Summary:
As a Project Manager/Scrum Coach, you will guide the HHMI Agile process to provide continuous delivery of solutions to support business needs. In addition to leading projects of varying scopes, the Project Manager/Scrum Coach will coach their assigned team and Product Owners to follow the HHMI Agile principles to provide continuous improvement of software delivery parallel with day-to-day application and business process support.

What you’ll do:
Implement project management by:
Developing and completing detailed workplans and resource plans for a diverse portfolio of projects, to include digital and public website focused projects
Identifying, tracking, mitigating, and resolving risks and issues
Partnering with design and technical leads to translate business needs into front-end and back-end website and application requirements.
Developing and implementing test plans/scenarios
Tracking and leading actions and decisions
Handling multiple workstreams and assigning priorities to tasks
Presenting recommendations, options, opportunities, and assumptions to leadership
Preparing and presenting status reports
Facilitating workshops and project status update meetings
Holding workstream leads accountable for timely and quality execution of assigned tasks
Supporting Steering Committee/Governance meetings
Provide scrum coaching by:
Serving as Scrum Coach for an agile capability team focused on digital and web development
Integrating Agile principles into team practices and work products, including coaching the team on reporting, measuring and evaluating team performance, backlog development, refinement and prioritization, and facilitating team ceremonies
Performing multi-hat roles to include one or more of the following: Requirements Management (User stories, Epics, Product and Sprint Backlogs), Change Management, and Facilitation Management
Scheduling and conducting meetings with assigned capability team to gain insight into the state of individual release and sprint plans, schedules, results, achievements, project risks and mitigation
Communicates committed stories for the upcoming sprint to backlog owners and partners
Facilitates the discussions of sophisticated, high-value projects that require the coordination of development or technology work on multiple capability teams to achieve the desired functionality
What you’ll bring:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required; preferred areas of study include but not limited to Management Information Systems, Software Engineering or Computer Science.
3-6 years of IT program and project management experience required
1-3 years of digital or website program or project management focus preferred
PMP Certification required
Scrum certification (CSM, PSM, PMI-ACP) preferred
Experience using different project management methodologies to lead projects
Experience with Jira or other agile project management software preferred
Facilitation certification or demonstrated experience facilitating in large, diverse teams preferred
Demonstrated commitment to and experience in customer service, negotiation, and conflict resolution in an environment where legitimate demands often contend.
Ability to exercise independent judgment, work well under pressure, and handle ambiguity
Physical Requirements:
Remaining in a normal seated or standing position for extended periods of time; reaching and grasping by extending hand(s) or arm(s); dexterity to manipulate objects with fingers, for example using a keyboard; communication skills using the spoken word; ability to see and hear within normal parameters; ability to move about workspace. The position requires mobility, including the ability to move materials weighing up to several pounds (such as a laptop computer or tablet).

Compensation Range:
IT Project Manager III– $106,157.60 (minimum) - $132,697.00 (midpoint) - $172,506.10 (maximum)
IT Project Manager IV – $118,792.00 (minimum) - $148,490.00 (midpoint) - $193,037.00 (maximum)
Pay Type: Annual
HHMI’s salary structure is developed based on relevant job market data. HHMI considers a candidate's education, previous experiences, knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity when making job offers. Typically, a new hire for this position in this location is compensated between the minimum and the midpoint of the salary range.
