Essential Job Duties
The facilities support of University Housing and the Division of Academic and Student Affairs (DASA) requires a sophisticated understanding and analysis of the Department’s Division’s facilities and building systems. The Project Manager oversees the planning, execution, and close out of capital projects for University Housing as well as other DASA partners. University Housing serves the needs of over 10,000 students who live on campus across 30 buildings consisting of over 3 million square feet.
Oversees all large scale capital improvements and construction projects for University Housing, DASA Student Centers and the construction of new Fraternity and Sorority houses. Analyzes building systems and determines appropriate solutions for new construction and renovations of existing systems. 
Supervises the informal Project Manager. Conducts performance management for this position. Coaches and facilitates enhancement of employee competencies. Provides budget administration and ensures that fiscal rules and regulations are followed. (20%)
This position is the direct contact and liaison with engineers, architects and contractors and is regularly asked to interpret and apply practices that require advanced knowledge and skill. Ability to review and analyze building systems.
Serves as contact for Divisional renovations and facility needs. Responsible for communicating project requirements to the team and ensuring their needs are met through the design process. 
Participates in and directs the development and implementation of new rules, policies and/or procedures. This position is expected to continually develop processes and strategies to improve the quality of service throughout our facilities operation. (15%)

Qualifications


Minimum Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in the Engineering or Architectural discipline related to the area of assignment and two years of related Engineering experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Other Required Qualifications
  • Five to seven years of experience designing, planning, and implementing facilities projects.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working facilities operations in a university environment.
Required License(s) or Certification(s)
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Valid NC Driver’s License within 60 days of hire.
