Position Highlights

The Project Management Assistant II collaborates with the Director of the CATS Center to oversee the tracking and maintenance of technical project data. Entry-level skills in SQL and programming languages will be involved to assist with system and project upkeep. Additionally, the role entails contributing to the CATS Center maintenance efforts working closely with the Director and research staff.

Duties & Responsibilities

Project Tracking and Update

  • Coordinate and monitor projects from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to schedules and plans.
  • Generate weekly reports for the projects and technical support as required.
  • Update project information in the database using entry-level SQL scripting.
  • Update website content and assist with developing of new content.

Administrative

  • Maintain project documentation, including updates, status reports, and meeting minutes.
  • Organize and manage project folders for easy access and reference.

Organize activities and events

  • Arrange and organize project meetings, workshops, and presentations.
  • Ensure event venues are well-prepared for seamless execution.

Maintenance

  • Assists in maintaining the center's IT inventory and supplies.
  • Ensure that project information displayed on the TV wall remains current and accurate.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities (KSAs):

  • Knowledge of project management methodologies, including initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closure.
  • Entry-level SQL scripting skills for updating and maintaining project information within databases.
  • Ability to assist in coordinating and monitoring projects from initiation to completion while ensuring adherence to schedules and plans.
  • Skills in generating weekly status reports to track project progress and technical support requests.
  • Ability to maintain project documentation, including updates, status reports, and meeting minutes, while organizing project folders for easy access.
  • Ability to identify and address issues or challenges that arise during project coordination and documentation maintenance.
  • Skills in organizing project meetings, workshops, and presentations, including ensuring well-prepared event venues.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with the IT Manager and other CATS members to achieve project objectives and maintain IT inventory and supplies.
  • R/Python skills and/or other programming languages
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent, or equivalent learning attained through experience required. Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
