The Project Director of TRIO Educational Talent Search (ETS) makes a positive impact in the pre-college students by providing leadership for programs that support the persistence, retention, and graduation of first-generation, low-income, and disabled students. ETS provides support and opportunities to prepare students to excel academically by providing support, motivation, and encouragement. The Project Director will:
  • Administer and implement innovative and high-impact programs and services for ETS participants.
  • Promote the services available to ETS programs and recruit eligible students to participate in the program.
  • Recruit, hire, train, and lead a staff of professional staff, graduate assistants, and student workers to fulfill the mission and grant requirements of ETS.
  • Develop and administer and ETS grant budget, based on the requirements of the grant. This includes reporting and securing additional funding for future grant years.
  • Assess and monitor program data and outcomes.

Minimum Required Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in education or related field
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience working in education related field and/or in the administration of programs service low-income or 1st generation populations.
  • Two years of experience supervising staff.
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity and a record of inclusion.
  • Ability to develop programming to prepare high school students for college success.
  • Maintain accurate student records and produce reports on student progress as needed.
  • Must be able to drive a 12 passenger van.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and meet University driver eligibility requirement.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Direct experience working with a TRIO program, pre-college program preferred.
  • Experience with data management for TRIO programs and/or reporting to the Department of Education.
  • Leadership experience in higher education or related industry.
  • Experience developing, implementing, and managing a budget.
  • Experience managing and meeting grant objectives and expectations.
