Summary of Duties | The William D. Ruckelshaus Center’s mission is to act as a neutral resource for collaborative problem solving in the State of Washington and the Pacific Northwest. The Center is a joint effort of Washington’s two research universities and was developed in response to requests from community leaders. The Center is hosted at the University of Washington by the Daniel J. Evans School of Public Affairs and at Washington State University by WSU Extension (which also provides its administration). It is guided by an advisory board of prominent local, state and regional leaders representing a broad range of constituencies and geographic locations. This 12-month, full-time Project Coordinator position uses independent judgment to manage the day to day administration of one or more of the Center’s projects. The position involves coordination with project managers and service on project teams. May also help develop projects, provide facilitation and/or be put forth as project lead. The Project Coordinator position provides coordination and project management support for the Center’s collaborative governance projects. |

Required Qualifications | A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant extension program discipline and two (2) years of related program experience. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis. |

Additional Requirements | Must have the ability to travel. Must have, or able to obtain, a driver’s license by time of hire. |
Preferred Qualifications | Demonstrated ability to coordinate projects, serve on and lead project teams, and provide logistical support. Exercise independent judgment and decision making authority. Manage internal program communications to improve efficiency and effectiveness of coordination between faculty and staff. Experience with outreach and education programs for the general public and community. Manage outreach, workshop, meetings and conference events. Ability to study, analyze, prepare and write materials and correspondence that are highly sensitive, confidential and complex in nature. Experience developing and conducting complex project research, data gathering, analysis, and writing. Analyze and prepare background or briefing materials, meeting agendas, action items and summaries. Create reports for public release, work with disparate and often conflicting parties in developing a common perspective on the information the Center gathers and disseminates. Ability to develop and maintain relationships with internal and external audiences at all levels, including university administrative and financial entities, and external partners such as funding agency contacts and key stakeholders. Experience collaborating with project managers and teams evaluate, consolidate and apply policies and procedures that can improve dispute resolution practices from one project to another. |
