What We Want

The Project Coordinator I, under general supervision of the Parking Projects and Maintenance (PPM) management team, coordinates and assists with the completion of projects related to parking structures and Transportation Services assets. The selected candidate will also be responsible for developing and coordinating parking plans and project control, while still providing oversight of administrative duties as needed. This position will inspect, create, and monitor work orders for repairs to the assets belonging to Transportation Services; work to determine and implement needs of the PPM unit regarding current projects and parking structure/asset management; document actions as needed, including the timely submittal of reports and related materials; aid in the supervision and examination of Custodial Contract for Parking Garages; and provide input regarding project costs and performance periods to PPM Project Manager III.

Starting pay rate: $42,868.81 - $48,000.00


Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education or experience

  • Three years of related experience in project coordination/administration

Required Licenses and Certifications:

  • Must have a Class “C” vehicle operator’s license or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to prioritize, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines

  • Knowledge of standard proofreading, word processing and spreadsheet applications

  • Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others

Other Requirements or Other Factors

  • Must be able to report to work on home football games and other special events as needed to assist staff.

  • Requires use of a University vehicle.


  • Project Coordination- Ensures that all Engineering Design and Construction Services (EDCS) and SSC maintenance projects on campus are properly coordinated through Transportation Services and others so that the parking and traffic control are the least impactful to the University community while still allowing the projects to continue in a timely fashion. Begins the approval process for all relevant EDCS projects and forward to Campus Planning Design and Construction as Transportation Services approved. Submits work orders and building maintenance requests and coordinates uniform orders, inventory, and service for radios and office phones, etc. Coordinates the development, purchase, installation and implementation of new products and services. Maintains database integrity, security, and accuracy. Coordinates multiple work streams to ensure cross-project dependencies and impacts are identified and managed. Ensures compliance with applicable regulations.

  • Project Support- Analyzes requirements for projects or initiatives. Researches, compiles, applies information, and makes evaluative judgements on appropriate data to use. Assures the confidentiality of mail, correspondence, and reports. Works on special projects as needed. Prepares presentation and communication materials for the unit. Serves on departmental committees. Follows up with onsite visits to all projects which are being coordinated to ensure compliance. Follows up with quality control visits to Transportation Services structures/assets to ensure cleanliness and proper maintenance is being performed. Assists with forecasting and progress reporting against milestones, budgetary updates, and the change management process. Plans and provides logistical and administrative support for events, meetings (staff meetings), or other special functions, including on-site support. Orders food for home football games and provides support for all home football games and other special events as needed.

  • Administration- Supervises the creation, maintenance, and retention of office files and records. Works with departmental records retention representative regarding destruction of appropriate files and records. Oversees inventory control of office and project supplies, keys, and equipment. Oversees the records of EDCS and SSC maintenance projects. Attends pre-construction meetings, when needed, and coordinates contractor parking agreements. Schedules projects with TS Customer Service. Reconciles expenses in Concur, tracks elevator entrapments, tracks parking use for all current construction projects on campus, submits 811 locate requests, assists with the compliance of all Environmental Health and Safety requests associated with Transportation Services parking structures, serves as one of two primary contacts for internal work order requests and implementation. Coordinates with vendors and others in the delivery and support for systems and services that are associated with the PPM unit. May lead or supervise program aides and students. Develops, evaluates, and ensures adherence to office procedures. Monitors office procedures to eliminate duplication of efforts and to streamline the flow of operations.
