Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Project Coordinator I for the School of Social Work. The Project Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the daily activities on grant-funded big data projects, ensuring all project deliverables are met on time, providing direct services, administrative, and logistical support to ensure a productive and collaborative environment. The Project Coordinator will also be responsible for cleaning and running data, under the direction of the lead data analyst. The overall focus of the projects is to determine the nature, course, and prevalence of interactive and land-based forms of gambling in the State of New Jersey, evaluate player behavior and responsible gambling strategies online, and investigate the relationship of online gambling and sports wagering to gambling problems.
Among the key duties of the position are the following:
  • Manages and coordinates project tasks and deliverables with data analysts and other CGS staff and administrators.
  • Conducts data analysis, data interpretation, and report generation at the direction of data analyst(s) and supervise student staff in these duties.
  • Provides analysis oversight, reviewing SPSS output files generated by analyst(s) to ensure fidelity and review methods and techniques.
  • Generates weekly reports on progress for all online gambling/sports wagering projects.
  • Populates and formats report tables, including statistical notations; provide recommendations for narrative; and suggest alternative methods for data presentation.
  • Researches and writes literature reviews on topic areas as directed by the PI. Obtain new reports and evaluations conducted worldwide on internet gaming and sports wagering and develop and maintain an online research library for all gaming-related resources.
  • Maintains daily communication with Asst. Director regarding status of analyses and report generation.
  • Coordinates and/or attends project meetings, facilitate Center staff preparation for meetings to ensure action items can be addressed in a timely fashion.

Qualifications


Minimum Education and Experience
  • Requires a bachelor’s degree in psychology, public health, social work, economics or a related discipline as well as 2 years of relevant experience with big data project coordination, evaluation, data collection and analysis, writing reports, and coordination with stakeholders.
Certifications/Licenses
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • The position requires administrative experience, the ability to build relationships, outstanding interpersonal, organizational and communication skills, and knowledge of gambling and internet gambling issues. Lastly, the position requires experience using SPSS and other statistical software and the ability to clean and run data and read and interpret data reports.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree or PhD preferred.
  • The ideal candidate will have substantial experience with online gambling data.
