The College of Allied Health Sciences at East Carolina University provides opportunities to make a difference in the health of the region, state, and nation.
The interdisciplinary College of Allied Health Sciences educates the fastest-growing sector of the health care work force, including physical and occupational therapists, physician assistants, audiologists, dietitians, counselors, medical technologists, and health information managers.
As of Fall 2017, the college had grown to over 1,500 students enrolled in its degree programs. There are more than 560 graduate students across the college and over 65 in graduate certificate programs.
Students from Allied Health disciplines routinely achieve first-time pass rates well above the national average on professional licensing exams. The majority of students are employed prior to or within six months of graduation, and approximately 65 percent of graduates live in North Carolina.
THIS A TIME LIMITED POSITION
The Project Coordinator will work on the BC Data 360 project whose purpose is to create a data and information platform for the community. On the platform, key resources related to substance abuse misuses will be listed. Key metrics of measuring substance misuse in the community will be created and shared with key stakeholders as resources for decision making. The coordinator will be the primary person to interact with key groups in the community to bring the awareness of the BC Data 360 data platform by attending meetings and scheduling one on one meetings and discussions to review research data. Additionally, the coordinator will be responsible for identifying data sources that will be imported, collected, and aggregated to support data analysis, data visualization, and information driven decision making. The selected candidate will communicate and negotiate with the agencies hosting the data sources to ensure quality control, quality integrity, and ensure that the research data is exchanged securely. He/She will also be responsible for the integrity of the data by examining the consistency, variation, and accuracy of data. In this role, the Project Coordinator will participate in the design and development of questionnaires, surveys, and other research data collection instruments and then work closely with the community stakeholders to collect their feedbacks on the deliverables of the Beaufort County Data 360 project. Once aggregated, this data will be shared with key stakeholders, including members of the EMS, Sheriff’s Office, Police Office, Health Department, Community Health Centers, health care providers, and representatives from various drug stores. The person in this role will also serve as backup at meetings when the PI is unavailable. The Project Coordinator will also train and demonstrate the systems to key decision makers. The person in this role will also be the primary creator of all standardized operating procedures for the systems that are used for this project.
Bachelor’s degree in a discipline related to the field assigned and one year of related training or experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
