The Center for Economic and Social Research (CESR) at the Dana and David Dornsife College of Letters, Arts and Sciences is seeking a Project Administrator to join its team. The project administrator will work with study investigators to manage and develop a policy explorer that captures and communicates the rapid evolution of policies affecting older people across the world. The project administrator will work with a multidisciplinary, international research team and will be responsible for coordinating staff, and ensuring accurate and timely release of documents and data. This position will help lead a team collecting historical pension and old-age income support policies across the world. An ideal applicant will have expertise in the pension policies of multiple countries, editing experience, and demonstrated ability to learn about these policy areas and manage teams.

Job responsibilities include:

  • Acquiring a strong understandinof country-specific differences in social and economic policy
  • Leading the collection, interpretation, and documentation of complex information on country-specific policy related to public pensions and social assistance. Countries will include those in the European Union and United States, United Kingdom, Mexico, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Japan, South Korea, China, India, Malaysia, Brazil, and Chile.
  • Coordinatingteato collect and communicate policy information and create data products based on that policy information
  • Review and edit content related to the policy information collected by the team
  • Develop approaches for concisely communicating country-specific differences in social and economic policy
  • Participate in writing of reports, research papers, articles and other documentation of project status and/or administrative activities or project results
  • A strong applicant should be able to use LaTeX for document preparation or be able to learn LaTeX

Qualifications:

  • Ability to produce careful and detail-oriented work
  • Ability to collect and interpret information from a variety of languages leveraging tools such as Google Translate
  • Excellent communication and writing skills
  • Exceptionaproblem-solvinabilitie
  • Minimum education: Master’s Degree. Combined experience/education as substitute for minimum education
  • Minimum experience: 3 years. Combined experience/education as substitute for minimum experience
  • Major in economics, public policy, political science, sociology, psychology, quantitative social sciences, or relatefield required.

Minimum Field of Expertise: Economics or other quantitative social science.

Salary range: The annual base salary range for this position is $81,334 - $82,000. When extending an offer of employment, the University of Southern California considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, federal, state and local laws, contractual stipulations, grant funding, as well as external market and organizational considerations.

This is a grant funded position.
