Project Administrator (2 Year Fixed Term)

The mission of the Office of Facilities Planning and Management (OFPM) in the School of Medicine is to plan for and manage the facilities needs of the School of Medicine community in the areas of facilities operations, capital planning and budgeting, projects from programming through occupancy, space inventory, and facility assets.

Stanford University is seeking a Project Management Specialist-Facilities/Construction to manage activities of assigned projects from project initiation through completion with limited guidance; coordinate all technical activities on assigned projects. Work is typically comprised of 30% time contribution towards project leadership and 70% as a technical contributor. This is a 100% remote, 2 years fixed term assignment.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in facilities, construction, design, and/or architecture industry.
  • Move activation and planning experience; Stanford experience a plus.
  • Proven project coordination skills, strong organizational skills and the ability to remain flexible in a constantly changing and demanding environment.
  • Knowledge of and proficiency with Oracle, AutoCAD, PTR, Project 360, Smartsheets, Scheduling software (Microsoft Project, Project Timeline, Primavera), Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to problem solve independently while managing multiple tasks with competing priorities.


EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE (REQUIRED):

  • Four-year college degree in Facilities Planning, Construction Management, or Engineering with a minimum of two years relevant experience.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (REQUIRED):

  • Polished written and oral communication skills to address a wide variety of audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to use project management software tools.
  • Demonstrated multi-tasking ability to manage multiple parallel projects and competing priorities.
  • Ability to productively contribute to cross-functional teams.
  • Depth of knowledge in technical discipline/domain needed to deliver projects.
  • Demonstrated project management ability to employ integration, scope time management, cost, quality, human resources, communications, risk, and procurement components.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS*:  

  • 100% REMOTE
  • Frequently stand/walk, sit, perform desk-based computer tasks and lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh up to 10 pounds.
  • Occasionally use a telephone, write by hand, twist/bend/stoop/squat, grasp lightly/fine manipulation and lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh up to 20 pounds.
  • Rarely kneel, crawl, climb ladders, reach/work above shoulder, grasp forcefully, carry, push, and pull objects that weigh up to 40 pounds or more.
  • Ability to maintain a valid non-commercial California Driver's license.
  • Auditory acuity with ability to hear horns and bells.
  • Visual acuity with ability to determine colors for finishes.
  • Ability to climb scaffolding, ladders, stairs etc.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • May work in active laboratories or outdoor environments. 
  • May be exposed to extreme hot and cold temperatures, be exposed to high voltage electricity, radiation or electromagnetic fields, lasers, noise > 80dB TWA, allergens/biohazards/chemicals /asbestos, or heavy metals or work on roofs at heights greater than 10 ft.
  • May drive vehicle day and night.
  • Must wear personal protective equipment as defined/required by job assignments, and dress for clean rooms.
  • May work extended hours, evenings and weekends.

This role is open to candidates anywhere in the United States. Stanford University has five Regional Pay Structures . The compensation for this position will be based on the location of the successful candidate.

The expected pay range for this position is $79,000 to $119,000 per annum.
