PROGRAMMER/ANALYST-MHEALTH

To enhance and maintain the patient facing and internal applications by applying principles, practices and procedures to plan, design, develop and support systems and projects. To conduct research and analysis and present findings to the ICT Directory of the Collaborative for review to be used for project execution or for project planning for grant writing stages of projects. To carry out the continuous improvement of various mHealth (mobile health) projects for research. To research, test and practice newer technologies as applicable to newly proposed/funded mHealth projects. This position will commit to fostering an environment of heightened security following Information Technology Security Policies and participating in security training, such as Health Insurance Portability & Accountability Act (HIPAA) and Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), on an annual basis.

 

Key Duties and Primary Responsibilities:

  • Designs, builds, maintains and supports the various mHealth platforms and applications for research and also helps in proposal and planning of future mHealth platforms and applications
  • Assists in training and support of the end users of the mHealth platforms and applications
  • Acts as a liaison between the department and other UAB entities, subcontractors, industry and federal partners accessing the mHealth platforms
  • Works with Information Security Officers to ensure compliance with all IT security policies and training including HIPAA and FERPA
  • Performs other duties as assigned

 

Annual Salary:  $57,940- $ 94,150

 

Qualifications

 

Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or a related field and two (2) years of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.
