Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Program Support Coordinator for the Office of Human Research Services for Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey. The Program Support Coordinator is the main point of contact for all Disease Specific Groups (DSGs) and Leaders across the Rutgers Cancer Institute and RWJBHealth system. This position is responsible for handling and producing a large volume of oncology clinical trials information to assist with fulfilling DSG expectations as outlined by policy and aligning with National Cancer Institute expectations. This coordinator will also support the Cancer Institute’s Cancer Center Support Grant (CCSG) by analyzing key performance metrics, providing analysis to leadership via business intelligence, and assistance in preparation of CCSG data as needed for grant reporting and competitive renewal requirements.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
  • Serves as the key member for communications related to Disease Specific Group (DSG) activities.
  • Establishes a regular meeting schedule for all site level DSG meetings in coordination with each DSG leader, including working with the Leaders to establish and distribute minutes and action items for each meeting.
  • Assists DSG Leaders with creating and managing portfolio maps to support the vetting and prioritizing of new trials in support of ongoing DSG study portfolio review and management.
  • Assists in preparation of reports, presentations, and other documentation in the ongoing oversight of programmatic activities and in the investigation and development of solutions to problem areas.
  • Coordinates monthly Clinical Trials Steering Committee meetings. Takes, distributes minutes and action items for each
    meeting.
  • Supports investigators with SRB submissions and Study Interest Forms of new protocols. Tracks approvals in OnCore®.
  • Sets consistent expectations with DSG Leaders and Office of Human Research Services research staff regarding timely
    updates to patient and protocol level information in OnCore®.
  • Regularly updates OnCore® with protocol level information and key updates to support an efficient and effective study
    activation process.
  • Serves as a DSG champion, liaise with Study Activation Coordinators and Regulatory staff regarding the status of studies in the start-up process to support timely activation of new Cancer Institute studies.
  • Tracks study task list completion in OnCore® to ensure study start-up performance metrics are met.
  • Collects data relevant to DSG programmatic activities and processes on a regular basis from various stakeholders. Develops
    and maintains DSG reports and analytics to support CCSG activities.
  • Maintains a high level of professional responsibility and performance.
  • Attends training programs, modules, workshops, and seminars; and DSG meetings with the Principal Investigator, when
    directed by supervisor, to keep up-to-date on departmental objectives.
  • Maintains working knowledge of DHHS, FDA, OHRP, NIH, GCP, HIPPA, IRB and other applicable guidelines. Reviews all applicable guidelines and incorporates information into daily work place. Maintains professional growth and development through educational programs.

Qualifications


Minimum Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree plus three (3) years professional experience with planning, coordinating, evaluating and managing of projects/programs; developing strongaction plans; and researching and interpreting data required.
  • An equivalent combination of education, experience and/or training may be substituted for the education requirements.
Certifications/Licenses
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Must be computer literate with proficiency and working knowledge of database a nd reporting tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, access and PowerPoint.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Minimum of one (1)to three (3) years of clinical research experience preferred.
  • Experience with National Cancer Institute – Centers Program.
