Job Description

The Program Specialist IV, under general supervision, performs complex administrative and supervisory work to provide and coordinate advanced professional level administrative support to the center director, key faculty, and research staff.

Responsibilities

  • Performs a variety of technical, training, research, planning, policy, and program activities.
  • Administers and manages BS-PETE & Petroleum Ventures Program (PVP) Certificate program, in conjunction with the director of the programs. Provides consultative services and technical assistance in planning, implementation, and monitoring of program.
  • Prepares and maintains budgets, special reports, and other documents. Prepares and reviews reports on the effectiveness of program activities.
  • Monitors, reviews, and evaluates compliance with projects, program policies and procedures, statutes, and rules.
  • Participates in the development of program goals and objectives. Develops and recommends program guidelines, procedures, policies, rules, and regulations. Attends meetings and conferences to discuss the progress of assigned programs.
  • Confers with staff on program issues and problems and recommends solutions. Prepares and oversees the preparation of training and operational manuals.
  • Oversees the work of assigned program staff.
  • Plans and coordinates policies for activities, and assists in interpreting and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local laws, rules, and regulations.
  • Prepares and reviews the preparation and review of operational and special reports.
  • May develop regulations and procedures.
  • Assist the department’s undergraduate curriculum committee and advise on compliance with college and university policies.
  • Maintain curriculum utilizing university system and implement changes.
  • Analyze and project enrollment needs, formulate department schedule of classes, and manage course enrollment capacities.
  • Responsible for coordinating and overseeing undergraduate scholarship application procedures, selection processes, and maintaining appropriate records.
  • Interface and coordinate with PVP staff in Mays.
  • Assists directors of other programs, such as Engineering Honors, Petroleum Ventures Certificate Program, Data Analytics for the Petroleum Industry Certificate Program and the Energy Engineering Certificate Program, as needed.

Required Education:
Bachelor’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
 

Required Experience:

Six years of related experience.
