Job Description

Purpose:

The Program Specialist II, under general supervision, performs specialist duties for a department, college, or division. 50% Support collaborations with Bay Area Houston Economic Partnership (BAHEP) and their SATOP (Space Alliance Technology Outreach Program) program and 50% support student project teams and experiential learning activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Sponsored capstone projects – facilitating connection of project sponsors with appropriate academic majors, supporting collaboration of student and faculty with sponsors.
  • Sponsored non-capstone student projects and competition project teams– facilitate and support the development of project scopes suitable for non-capstone teams.
  • Sponsored technical assistance projects – facilitate faculty engagement with the SATOP small businesses.
  • Develop a database to track projects, feedback form all stakeholders (students, faculty, industry, small business) and identify areas for improvement
  • Develop promotional materials to raise visibility of the TEES-BAHEP partnership and its impact across the state of Texas and student project teams nationally, and internationally.
  • Plans and develops specialized programs such as conferences, events, seminars, lectures, meetings, and workshops to facilitate program goals. Plans, develops, implements, coordinates, and monitors program or services.
  • Provides and coordinates advanced professional level administrative support to programs and may assign duties for specified programs including, travel and working with internal/external vendors.
  • Confers with staff on program issues and problems. Coordinates specialized program communications and marketing materials.
  • Assists in the development of policies, procedures, and guidelines. Assists in budget tracking, data collection and management, tracking financial expenditures, special reports, and other documents.
  • Attends meetings, conferences, and competitions to support the progress of assigned programs.
  • This position may supervise student employees.

What we need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Two years of related experience.

  • Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications.
  • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.

  • Ability to work some evenings and weekends.
