Job Description

The Program Specialist II, under general supervision, performs specialist duties for the Nuclear Engineering Science Center (NESC) with primary responsibility to the Nuclear Power Institute (NPI) K-12 Programs. 

Responsibilities:

  • Provides advanced professional level administrative support to Associate Director.
  • Assists with planning, development, implementation and coordination of activities related to K-12 program.
  • Coordinates specialized program communications and marketing materials, including managing NESC/NPI social media posting, creation, updating, ad campaigns, website creation, management and maintenance.
  • Coordinates, creates and manages, newsletters, stories, articles, and news posts.
  • Assists in the development of policies, procedures, and guidelines. Assists in the preparation and maintenance of budgets, special reports, and other documents.
  • Attends meetings and conferences to discuss the progress of the program

Required Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Experience:

  • Two years of related experience.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of Google Docs, word processing, presentation, spreadsheet, and web applications.
  • Knowledge of current Texas K-12 issues, topics, and practices.
  • Knowledge and confidence in current, trending social media platforms.
  • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational and customer service skills.
  • Maintains attention to detail and utilizes sound judgment.
