Ames National Laboratory is seeking applicants for a Program Specialist. This position manages and coordinates all efforts required to operate the department; including budgets, projects and work order management for maintenance related efforts.

Responsibilities for daily operations, office administrative and clerical tasks; coordinates programming to ensure implementation and prescribed activities are carried out in accordance with Laboratory objectives. Plans, monitors, and coordinates service request workflows. Monitors budgets and ensures that the program meets the overall objectives. Works on problems and issues of somewhat limited scope. Follows standard practices and procedures in analyzing situations or data for which answers are available or can be obtained. Responds to inquiries and issues, escalating to manager or higher-level workers as appropriate. May provide supervision to one to two other staff.

The successful candidate will possess excellent written and verbal communications skills and an ability

to work with Ames Laboratory staff as well as external stakeholders and contractors. The candidate will also possess strong tact and maintain positive client and workplace relations. As problems arise, this individual will need to quickly identify beneficial solutions, so problem-solving and troubleshooting skills are advantageous. Strong organizational and analytical skills, including the ability to organize and coordinate work within various programs and projects is essential for success in this position.

Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an on-going basis without sponsorship.
