About Duke University Hospital

PRN - Monday - Friday 4 hours per day- hours will vary based on patient needs 

General Description of the Job Class

Plan, coordinate and participate in the establishment and operation of specialized programs or projects. Develop, coordinate and advise on policies related to specified activities.

Duties and Responsibilities of this Level

  • Design and teach effective art lessons for patients and their families.

  • Collaborate withvisual arts coordinator on project ideas, communicate regularly with hospital and clinic staff and help support volunteers as needed.

  • Maintain the service schedule and calendar to best meet the needs of patients.

  • Maintain detailed program reports and records.

  • Keep art supplies stocked, clean, and organized.

Required Qualifications at this Level

Education

Work requires analytical, communications and organizational skills generally acquired through completion of a bachelor's degree program with one year of experience in program administration or event production.

-OR-

Two years of postsecondary education with three years of experience in program administration or event production. Or high school with 5 or more years of experience

OR AN EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

Experience

  • Experience working with children.

  • Experience working with pediatric patients in a hospital setting.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Must be experienced in Microsoft Excel, Word. Basic database experience required.

  • Must be able to create and implement a variety of project based timelines.

  • Demonstrate a strong interest in working in a team environment, willingness to support team members in individual and department goals, and a willingness to learn from others
