Program Operations Analyst (Energy Conversion Group)

Berkeley Lab’s Energy Storage & Distributed Resources Division (ESDR) is looking for a Program Operations Analyst to join their Energy Conversion Group (ECG)!

 

In this role, you will provide operations development support for the ECG program including initiatives, scheduling, and planning, as well as coordination and communications. Working closely with the ECG Group Leader and Principal Investigators (PIs), this position will organize a range of logistics including seminars, workshops, special presentations for conferences, briefings, and/or submissions related to the ECG R&D portfolio.

 

What You Will Do:

• Assist in planning and coordinating program scheduling and communication, working closely with ECG Group Leader and PIs. Monitor project deliverables from initiation to delivery.
• Provide support for the development of clear and concise presentations, briefings, and reports containing programmatic and technical data appropriate for diverse internal and external audiences.
• Assist with collection and distribution of quarterly reports, coordinating with Consortium members from industry and other National Labs.
• Organize seminars, workshops, special presentations for conferences, briefings and other technical and management events related to ECG’s R&D portfolio. Coordinate visits from high-profile partners/collaborators, and special events.
• Work in coordination with various LBNL offices to design, develop and implement a range of solutions and tools including collateral programmatic materials for displays and/or distribution, visits from high-profile partners/collaborators, and special events.
• Provide support tracking milestones and deliverables and perform other duties related to ECG’s RDD&D portfolio.
• Work with the Division Program Manager on ECG subcontracts and ECG space needs, and when required, interact with the Division administrative team, Area staff and other LBNL departments to obtain and coordinate services for ECG.
• Provide project/program budget recommendations or troubleshooting based on data analysis.

 

What is Required:

• A Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent training/knowledge) in Business, Operations, or a related field and a minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience supporting initiatives, project planning, scheduling, and communications.
• Demonstrated experience utilizing office software tools including Google Applications (email, calendar, drive, forms, etc), Smartsheet, and information systems for data management and presentations.
• Excellent planning and organizational skills, including the ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently to meet workload demands and deadlines, to respond quickly and maintain flexibility during periods of changing work priorities and tight time constraints.
• Demonstrated program management skills including the ability to effectively organize seminars, workshops, briefings and other technical and management events.
• Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills including demonstrated experience interfacing with all levels of personnel both internal and external to an organization with a high degree of professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality.
• Demonstrated written communication skills including experience producing professional high-quality, error-free documents, reports, and presentations on complex subjects and issues appropriate for internal and external groups, including funders.

 

What We Prefer:

• Familiarity with Federal and State R&D programs and initiatives in the Energy Technologies Area.
• Experience in or familiarity with Berkeley Lab, the University of California (UC), or the Department of Energy (DOE) policies and procedures.

• This is a full time career appointment, exempt from overtime pay (monthly paid).
• Salary is commensurate with experience.
