Position Description
Advertised Job Summary | The Program Manager plays a pivotal role in managing the database program within the Center for the Study of Aphasia Recovery (C-STAR), ensuring good communication, efficient operations, and effective implementation and monitoring of protocols. They will be responsible for the development, implementation, and maintenance of databases for research projects within and related to C-STAR, including the management of data-sharing requests and agreements. |

Required Education and Experience | Master’s degree and at least 2 years of experience in Information Technology systems, Database Administration or related field; o bachelor’s degree and at least 4 years of experience in Information Technology systems, Database Administration or related field. |
Preferred Qualifications | Master’s degree and at least 2 years of experience in Information Technology systems, Database Administration or related field; or bachelor’s degree and at least 4 years of experience in Information Technology systems, Database Administration or related field. Preference will be given to applicants with prior experience in database management using RedCap and Excel. A strong advantage will be granted to those with expertise in analytical methods, statistics, and software tools such as RedCap, Matlab, and Python. |
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities | Competent computer and communication skills (written and verbal), being task oriented, and possessing strong attention to detail are required for this role. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Expertise in time management, organization, and problem solving. Proficiency with basic computer software and technical troubleshooting skills. |
Job Duties
Job Duty | Maintain and continue to improve and update the existing REDCap data infrastructure of clinical research behavioral and neuroimaging data. Data should be organized allowing for queries by project or by other points of interest such as assessment scores, age, or type of aphasia, etc. Communicate the data management plan to all data input users for consistent data entry. Communicate data input to users (including graduate assistants) on an ongoing basis to make sure research data is entered consistently and accurately. |

Job Duty | Conduct weekly data quality checks in REDCap to identify potential data entry errors and validate data from source documents. If errors are found, the Program Manager will report in the weekly C-STAR lab meetings and provide immediate feedback to data input users to ensure reliable clinical research data. |
