Position Summary
The Undergraduate Business Program (UBP) is one of the largest academic programs within UNC’s Kenan-Flagler Business School with an enrollment of over 1,000 business majors and minors. The Undergraduate Business Program Office provides academic and student development services for current and prospective students, as well as faculty and staff. Specific services include: prospective student recruitment and admissions; academic services, including academic advising, course scheduling, and graduation; new student orientation; student life and engagement programs, such as student clubs and organizations, case competitions and other community-building opportunities; study abroad and other global program experiences; and career development programs. 
The Program Manager will serve a vital role in the UBP, managing important central operational functions that interact with all teams within the department. This position, reporting to a Business Officer, serves as a subject matter expert on budget and finance related matters. This position also generates, reviews, and evaluates operational and data reports for functional areas units and for major activities, such as Global Immersion Electives and the Undergraduate Business Symposium. The position independently identifies potential issues and recommends a solution to the Business Officer. This role is responsible for liaising with IT and Finance departments to ensure compliance and integrity. As part of the Operations Team, this role will support the UBP’s central operations, and report to the Business Officer. The position will serve as a back-up when the Business Officer is not available. The position must have a strong understanding of overall budget and financial analysis.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related discipline; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Detail-orientation
Written and verbal communication skills
Ability to collaborate and communicate across functional areas and experience levels
Microsoft Office skills, especially related to Excel
Data management experience, including survey creation, data analysis, and data visualization
Familiarity with data management tools (e.g. Qualtrics, Tableau, SQL or similar tools)
Knowledge of budget management and accounting
Impeccable organizational and time management skills
Problem-solving and analytical ability
Ability to flex hours during peak times
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
2+ years working with office or team budget and data
Knowledge of and experience with statistical software (e.g. SPSS, Stata or similar tool)
Experience in strategic data initiatives and business intelligence
Direct experience in a college or university setting
Ability to move quickly and adeptly between projects and perform under pressure in fast-paced, rapidly changing environment
Project management experience and demonstrated ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders
