Job Description Summary:
The George Washington University School of Business is the professional business school of George Washington University in Washington, D.C. The GW School of Business is ranked as one of the top business schools in the United States, with globally ranked undergraduate and graduate programs. The F. David Fowler Career Center (FDFCC) supports business school students in their pursuit of employment while in school and upon graduation. In support of this mission, the Career Center is searching for Program Manager,  Security Technology Transition Community of Practice  (STT CoP).  This individual is a key contributor in providing co-curricular programming, industry knowledge, professional development and networking connections for students. The position reports to the Assistant Director, Communities of Practice. 
The focus of this role is to build a unique industry community that serves as a robust resource for students desiring to advance, transition or launch business related careers in cybersecurity and other related industries or functions. The STT CoP will consist of career coaches, employer development consultants, faculty and academic advisors, alumni mentors, employer partners and student clubs. These stakeholders will all commit to supporting the Community with their expertise, connections, time and, when appropriate, funding in order to provide both graduate and undergraduate students with deep industry and functional training, professional development and networking connections in order to accelerate their market readiness and competitiveness. This senior level position provides coordination and program management on behalf of an academic program or initiative. This role will serve as a point of contact for the program, will answer typical and complex program questions from faculty, staff, and students, and will provide functional support and management for the program administration. Functional support will include developing new programming, managing web presence and marketing efforts, drafting program materials, planning and executing events, managing programmatic budget and similar duties. This position does not have direct reports but often schedules, trains and supervises student workers and industry mentors. Typical duties are under limited supervision or are independent of more senior personnel within the department, or program.
Specific responsibilities are:
Develop and provide strategic direction of the STT CoP designed for students and professionals with an interest in entrepreneurship and business careers related to cybersecurity, engineering, science, technology, analytics and other related fields involved in the transition and commercialization of security technology for application in the public and private sectors etc. 
Create and implement customized programming in collaboration with faculty advisors, academic advisors, career coaches and employment partners for each community so that students will have a structured roadmap for navigating a career in their function of choice. 
Manage program budget in development and maintenance of the STT CoP program.
Facilitating easy access to a broad network of standing experts and mentors ready to support student efforts for career advancement, transition, and readiness for DHS-STT industry and functional knowledge, experiential experience, internships and full time jobs. 
 
Develop and deliver training to students and mentors to establish expectations and to ensure an effective mentor/mentee relationship. 
 
Continuously monitor effectiveness and program to provide enhancements and improvements. 
 
Partner frequently with industry specific Employer Development Consultants, Corporate Collaborative Council, Centers of Excellence, Employer Partners, Alumni, and staff to ensure that our methodologies map to industry demands on an ongoing basis. 
 
Reports and logs data that has direct correlation to the Communities of Practice program goals, student/partner satisfaction, usage and other metrics used to enhance professional development, market readiness, student job placement, and career advancement and transition. 
 
Represent department at meetings, events, and conferences. Weekend programming assistance is provided as needed. 
 
Performs other related duties as assigned. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.
Minimum Qualifications:

Qualified candidates will hold a Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization plus 2 years of relevant professional experience, or, a Master’s degree or higher in a relevant area of study. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position. Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
Masters Level Degree, MBA or STEM degree preferred, but not required. 
 
Two+ years of project management or leadership experience in any of the following areas: entrepreneurship, cybersecurity, engineering, science, technology, analytics, business, and other related fields involved in the development or application of security technology in the public or private sectors etc. 
 
Familiarity with the academic, business and international cultures highly desired. 
 
Excellent communication, leadership, interpersonal, teamwork and customer service skills. 
 
Flexible and creative problem solver who consistently meets deadlines. 
 
Works well under pressure in fast paced environment.
Typical Hiring Range $52,959.04 - $72,845.69 How is pay for new employees determined at GW?
