PROGRAM MANAGER, Political Science-MIT Governance Lab (MIT GOV/LAB), to coordinate and perform day-to-day operational activities and project planning for MIT GOV/LAB .  Will handle program management, including operational decision-making; oversee program and project budgets, purchasing, and account reconciliation; plan virtual and in-person events; and collaborate on a range of projects, initiatives, and events. Responsibilities include collaborating on developing, implementing, and monitoring program and multiple project plans with a range of partner organizations in the U.S. and abroad; monitoring grant application and management processes; coordinating seminars/conferences/meetings/events; managing relationships and coordinating contracts with external vendors; coordinating human resources activities, including drafting job descriptions, search plans, and staff onboarding; coordinating research support activities, including submission of IRB protocols and arrangements for student and contract research staff; composing, editing, and proofreading correspondence and office materials; overseeing budgets and expenditures for research projects and lab activities; monitoring and reconciling accounts; making vendor and purchasing suggestions/decisions; managing operating budgets and income from different sources; tracking/monitoring the financial performance of grants/contracts; serving as point-of-contact for financial inquiries; preparing financial reports; developing program/project metrics; developing documentation and/or reporting for stakeholders; website maintenance; and a variety of other administrative functions. 


Job Requirements
REQUIRED: B.A; three years’ professional experience in an academic administrative position; excellent organizational, problem-solving, interpersonal, and verbal and written communication skills; experience with program/project budgets, accounting, and forecasting; attention to detail; ability to multitask, take initiative, and perform a range of diverse duties independently with minimal supervision; computer proficiency, including experience with spreadsheets and databases; comfort learning new software; experience planning/running events, scheduling complex travel, and arranging meetings; and discretion and judgment with confidential information/issues.  PREFERRED:  MIT experience.  Job #20213-8
