As a Program Manager II, you will work independently under the direction of the Vice-Chair of Education, DR Residency Program Director, and Department Administrator to manage the activities of department-wide resident and fellow programs. Provide direction and guidance to the education team to facilitate the achievement of the programs’ goals. Administrative leader for one or more graduate medical education (GME) programs and partners with the program director in the operational and financial management of the program(s).

Responsibilities:

  • Program Management: Work independently to manage the activities of the department's resident and fellow programs under the direction of the Vice-Chair of Education, DR Residency Program Director, and Department Administrator.
  • Team Leadership: Provide direction and guidance to the education team to facilitate the achievement of the program's goals.
  • Operational and Financial Management: Act as the administrative leader for one or more graduate medical education (GME) programs, partnering with the program director and Associate Department Administrator in the operational and financial management of the program(s).
  • Accreditation Compliance: Demonstrate a comprehensive and detailed understanding of national accreditation policies (e.g., ACGME) and ensure compliance. Maintain program timeline including tracking deadlines for program deliverables.
  • Program Planning and Development: Develop, initiate, and direct a wide range of programmatic activities, including long- and short-term program planning, project development and management, recruiting, policy development and updates, database management, and communication with various stakeholders (faculty, fellows, residents, medical students).
  • Program Relations: Manage internal and external program relations.
  • Cross-functional Responsibilities: Perform duties spanning various areas, including administration, finance, human resources, and event planning.
  • Resource for Learners, Faculty, and Staff: Serve as a primary resource for learners, faculty, and administrative staff regarding training program operations. Organize internal and external meetings, site visits, and special events.
  • Supervision: Supervise office staff members working in the training program office (if applicable).
  • Coordinate and manage program outreach activities including acting as a liaison with community organizations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Exhibits excellent knowledge and the ability to interpret and articulate accreditation program requirements.
  • Exhibits excellent knowledge of board and/or institutional requirements of training program(s).
  • Exhibits excellent knowledge of professional ethics, laws and regulations.
  • Demonstrates commitment to knowledge development
  • Maintains flexibility and a willingness to interact collegially with hospital administration, other departments, and outside contacts to carry out the mission of the program.
  • Exhibits exceptional interpersonal/customer service skills and is able to cope with stress effectively. Demonstrates commitment to continual advancement of verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exhibits proficiency of Microsoft Office programs, GME database management programs and web based applications for process improvement.
  • Exhibits the highest moral integrity when handling confidential information.
  • Ability to work independently, self-motivated, expertise in prioritizing tasks, shows initiative and is proactive.

Appropriate experience may be substituted for education on an equivalent basis.

Minimum education: Master’s Degree

Minimum experience: 8 years
