Responsible for administratively managing a University department under the general direction of a functional Program Director or under the auspices of a Program Advising Committee and according to an established program plan. May participate in the development of program objectives and is responsible for achieving objectives within defined parameters set by University and/or department policies and procedures or technical principles. May require fiscal management of grants and other funds. May manage multiple programs. Requires the use of independent judgment to determine the best approach to accomplish objectives established in the program plan. May supervise staff as needed.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Process Applications for Degree (AFD) and Certificate (AFC) in Banner by verifying correct curriculum for each applicant. 
  • Communicate with students and graduate programs regarding changes, corrections, and additional information necessary to process Application for Degree.
  • Audit degrees for graduate students who have applied to graduate by reconciling student transcript with degree requirements.
  • Award graduate degrees by marking grades in Banner, verifying correct degree or certificate is posted for each applicant.
  • Freeze all posted degrees in GPS and index each student's audit in Xtender.
  • Coordinate efforts with Plan I Coordinator on clearance to graduate, marking clearance items as complete for Plan I students.
  • Manage the workflow and processing of graduation request forms.
  • Process diploma orders for all awarded degrees. 
  • Communicate balance holds to students pending receipt of diploma.
  • Manage graduate students' curriculum, ensuring both the curricula and catalog term are correct.
  • Update Graduate School Global Affairs website with Application for Degree and Certificate deadlines.
  • Perform end of semester close out by marking all previously used coursework for continuing students, readmits, and Masters/PhD students.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Annual Salary Range: $41,175 - $66,915

     

    Qualifications

     

    Bachelor's degree in a related field and two (2) years of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.
