The Center for Community Schools in the College of Community Innovation and Education at the University of Central Florida is a practice-based organization that provides community school technical assistance, university-assisted partnerships, training and development, and assessment and evaluation.

The Opportunity:

The UCF Center for Community Schools in the College of Community Innovation and Education is seeking a Program Manager I for the Unlimited Potential Initiative (UPI) Program for Self Studies. This position will work with the program director and other Center for Community Schools staff to advance the practice-based application of continuous improvement while promoting Community School success. The Program Manager for Self Studies will manage areas for continuous improvement, self studies, scoping University Assistance community school support that will improve Community School progress. The Program Manager will work on the continuous evolution of self studies tools, process, workshops, and technical assistance/support to statewide community schools.

This is a Contract and Grant (C&G) funded position. Employment is subject to availability of funding and may cease at the time funding for this employment is depleted.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop an annual strategy for self study including an evolution of standards in both form and function, and the steps necessary to achieve them together with the program director and other UPI staff.

  • Develop and set course for an annual, short-term and long-term project plan that includes conducting external reviews, where needed, at specified sites.

  • Develop and implement a plan to lift the UCF self studies efforts and related tools in order to improve the impact in participating Community Schools broadly in collaboration with program director and other UPI staff.

  • Manage strategic partnership to advance and utilize the self studies with standards.

  • Lead the day-to-day operations of standards, including answering questions about the tools and process, and responding to requests for support.

  • Lead a working group to conduct the review and application and lead the efforts to provide and promote the broad-reaching application of the self studies to maintain university assistance efforts.

  • Review and manage the growth of Community School self studies; Lead an ad hoc certification committee to audit and review the process and tools for self studies, as needed.

  • Ensure maintenance of official self-studies records and documents to ensure compliance with regulations.

  • Drive continuous improvement in all aspects of community schools.

  • Leverage hands-on experience with practice analysis to ensure the self studies process continues to reflect a growing practice and that it meets the placed-based strategy needs of the community. This includes collaborating with the other houses within the center and researching emerging best practice community school principles.

  • Maintain ability to work independently, efficiently, and accurately, and follow through on assignments with timeliness and minimal direction.

  • Assist with special initiatives and projects.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master's degree and 4+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219. Click here for more information

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree preferred with 3-5 years of specific experience in continuous improvement and tool development efforts.

  • Ability to communicate professionally and effectively both verbally and in writing.
