Minimum Requirements:

Master's degree in a related field and five years of related experience. Additional experience may be used on a one-to-one basis to offset the educational requirements. The university offers market competitive salary and benefits. Pay Grade 7 (Min. $58,200, Mid. $72,700, Max $87,300).

Position Description:

The Program Manager I is responsible for oversight and management of day-to-day operations and projects for the Area Health Education Centers (AHEC) as well as providing support for the activities and initiatives through the School of Medicine's Office of Community Engagement and Diversity.  The Program Manager I oversees multiple large scale, multi-year projects throughout the life cycle of the project, including the administration and troubleshooting of the projects' records, timelines, communication, budgets, and deliverables.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assists Vice Dean in planning, designing, execution, and evaluation of projects and programs.
  • Oversees all aspects of program and project operations, including, but not limited to, collecting data, tracking progress, preparing reports, managing fiscal responsibilities.
  • Coordinates with internal and external partners and liaises with stakeholders.
  • Ensures ongoing compliance and maintains documentation required to meet regulations, policies and procedures, and other requirements of the university and the sponsoring agency.
  • Manages project effectiveness and advises Vice Dean on courses of action.
  • Leads program related activities, including but not limited to, facilitating and maintaining database for student rotations, coordinating AHEC related activities such as student fair and statewide project director meetings, and handling fiscal responsibilities such as revenue, expenses, and other budget-related tasks.

Compensation will be commensurate to candidate experience.
