Program Manager - Graduate Medical Education

Creighton University is seeking to hire a Program Manager for the Graduate Medical Education department. 

The Program Manager will serve as an expert consultant for Program Directors and Program Coordinators whose mission is to ensure the institution and training programs follow accreditation standards and hospital policies. A residency management suite software will be used to monitor and assess the quality of our GME programs and Institution with the overall goal of supporting the programs’ accreditation. This position will manage GME Program Coordinators and provide communications and maintain professional relationships with external stakeholders. 

In addition to ensuring that the GME (Graduate Medical Education) programs comply with regulations of accrediting bodies, this role will work closely with the DIO (Designated Institutional Official) to oversee academic and clinical activities of the residencies.  She/he will also help the training programs in their work with the quality and research departments as well as helping the institutions further develop well-being initiatives. 

 

Key Responsibilities

Communications : Facilitate all Resident/Fellow onboarding and orientation activities, manage all GME social media accounts, work with clinical partner recruiters, manage all wellness, recruitment, GME Training activities, manage faculty and resident/fellow professional development requirements.

Management: Manage employee performance and schedules, coaching/mentoring, creating training materials, and make recommendations for promotion.

Strategic planning and Institutional Accreditation : Manage the development of new GME accredited programs as well as overseeing all program accreditation requirements for these programs.

Data Analysis and Compliance monitoring : gather and analyze data, generate reports for internal and external stakeholders. Develops goals and ensures programs are meeting accreditation requirements.

Affiliate Invoicing : Reviewing Residency Management Suite to ensure all resident rotation, clinic, and leave time is recorded accurately, then creating invoices for all our affiliates for their proportional share.

 

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; direct experience could be considered in lieu of degree. 
  • 3+ years of experience in education, medical education, or personnel management required. 
  • Prior experience as a program coordinator preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of ACGME common requirements and specialty requirements preferred.
  • TAGME certification and/or prior experience as a GME program coordinator preferred.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to provide guidance and instruction to program coordinators and program directors.  Must foster a spirit of cooperation to achieve the goals of the School of Medicine.
  • Coordinating, directing, or managing an ACGME accredited training program or an administrative role in a teaching hospital or academic/medical department setting preferred.
  • Experience with residency management software systems such as New Innovations preferred.
  • Ability to pay close attention to detail, experience with data analysis preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including written and verbal, problem solving, diplomatically handling problems of a sensitive and/or confidential nature.
  • Demonstrated ability to be a self-starter and the ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.
  • Superior organizational skills and commitment to providing excellent customer service.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
