The Program Manager works closely with the Director and various other offices to ensure that Babson operates high-quality faculty-led, short-term education abroad and away programs for students. Specifically responsible for managing all aspects of internal and external activities for assigned Graduate and Undergraduate Short-Term Programs as well as other special programs; and assisting with oversight of education abroad information technology system, the maintenance of the team and office website, as well as the bi-annual faculty/staff travel workshop.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Manages the planning and execution of assigned Graduate and Undergraduate Short-Term Programs which includes creating marketing for a specific course and audience; managing the registration process; developing and managing a program budget for each course that takes into account student affordability/access, faculty needs, maintaining quality, and minimizing risk; making decisions for expenditures; providing financial reporting, logistics, scheduling, and pre-departure preparation; and interfacing with external partners and vendors. Works collaboratively with the lead Faculty and administrator of the course on curricular and travel details.
  • Advises students on program-related issues. This includes meeting with students and making independent decisions on programmatic issues and consulting with the Director on partnership and financial issues when appropriate.
  • Collaboratively works with office-wide team members to develop and maintain consistent program website content. Monitors and updates office website content.
  • Assists with the planning and execution of the bi-annual Faculty/Staff travel workshops. This includes, in collaboration with team, developing the workshop objectives annually, guiding the planning and execution, and completing periodic reviews to identify potential adjustments for continued improvement.
  • Assists in design and management of special programs. Prepares budgets for programs and oversees financial aspects of program, logistics (travel, transportation, and accommodation), guest speakers, materials, and site visits as needed.
  • Travels on one short-term program each academic year and is responsible for making decisions when travelling with the group. Acts as the point of contact on campus when groups are traveling (during the time periods they do not travel) and would make decisions for those groups as situations arise.
  • Represents Glavin Office of International Education at college functions as appropriate.
  • Assume additional responsibilities as required.

WHAT EDUCATION AND SKILLS YOU WILL NEED

Bachelorâ™s Degree

A minimum of 4-6 years of related experience.

Ability to work within fast-paced environment and make independent decisions.

Must have strong project management skills.

Must have excellent oral and written communication skills, especially in a cross-cultural setting.

Must have strong organizational, interpersonal, presentation, and financial skills.

Ability to work with multiple constituencies and be a team player.

Ability to work in a culturally diverse environment and interact with culturally diverse individuals at all levels of the organization.

Must have strong technology skills including proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Ability to envision and propose new methods to perform tasks that support Entrepreneurial Thought & Action; to take thoughtful risks; and accept new and ongoing initiatives, objectives, and solutions to gain sought-after results.

Ability to anticipate and embrace change; demonstrate willingness to achieve, acquire, and utilize new skills and challenging tasks; and is flexible in changing conditions.

HOW AND WHERE YOU WILL WORK

Must be able to frequently attend meetings and events during evenings and/or weekends.

Requires occasional domestic and/or international travel.

Requires work onsite a minimum of 3 days a week; the on-campus requirement is subject to modification based on organizational need.

ADDITIONAL SKILLS YOU MAY HAVE

  • Experience with Terra Dotta, and Workday a plus.
