The primary purpose of the Program Manager is to plan, direct, coordinate and evaluate all research activities for the new A1-augmented Drug Development (Moon Shot platform) and its interactions with other component initiatives. Activities include project development, including writing, planning, organizing and coordinating, project implementation, and scientific writing. The Program Manager will be responsible for the successful management of program operations and finances, establishment of guidelines and procedures for internal and collaborative projects, and program reporting. Additionally, the Program Manager will coordinate program specific meetings, support talent acquisition activities, maintain timelines for project related functions, update website content, and ensure the right resources are in place for program growth and sustainability. The Program Manager collaborates heavily with institutional offices and partnering departments on multidisciplinary large-scale projects. This position requires strong independent judgment and problem-solving skills; strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills; concurrent management of multiple projects; and ability to prioritize functions.

Key Functions

Program Management (operations, finance and personnel - 70%)

* Manage the day-to-day operations and workflow of the AI-Augment Drug Development program specific activities under the Professor and Director while acting as a liaison to faculty, program sections, the Moon Shots Office and outside agencies and institutions in facilitating program objectives.

* Manage the finances for the program including the program's participation in collaborative projects.

* Provide and assemble the data for progress reports and provide updates as necessary on program and research related activities.

* Collaborate with other stakeholders to ensure projects are moving forward in a timely fashion.

* Provide documentation and routine reporting to Professor and Director related to monitoring the programs milestones and initiatives.

* Manage program website for updated content on program, faculty and publications; monitors and updates the program's social media accounts, and work with MDA media teams to handle media requests.

* Assist with the deadlines and successful completion of executed documents for grants, patents, publications, COIs, MTAs to track and ensure institutional and governmental compliance; experience with legal terminology and deadlines is helpful.

* Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft office, including PowerPoint, Visio software and institutional programs including Click Grants, and PeopleSoft software.

* Assure that institutional policies and procedures are followed.

Budget and Personnel (30%)

* Ensure appropriate use of program funds using knowledge of institutional guidelines to ensure funds balances and compliance.

* Manage expense report tracking and reconciliation on financial accounts, and initiate cost fund transfers.

* Perform duties within the scope of established procedures, practices, and policies; interpret procedures, practices and policies; may have accountability for a functional area or program. Regular use of independent judgment and decision-making required.

* Assist with screening, interviewing, and advising on potential candidates for hire.

* Management of personnel recruiting activities including employee onboarding and training. Work with the HR Manager to create new positions.

* Assist with purchasing including procurement and inventory of supplies, capital and non-capital equipment, and lab related purchases.

* Reconcile expenditures utilizing program funds for purchases paid for with a Procurement Card (MasterCard) in accordance with institutional guidelines.

* Maintain accurate accounting of grants, monthly account status reports, reconciliation and reporting on sponsored programs and grant accounts. Assist in submitting new grants and ability to work in Click Grants and interact with the department's grants and financial team on inquiries. Ensure Grant reports are timely submitted.

* Interface with the information systems support group to resolve computer hardware, software, and inventory problems.

* Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:
Required: Bachelor's degree.

Preferred: Master's degree.

EXPERIENCE:
Required: Five years related experience to include three years program management experience. May substitute required education degree with additional years of equivalent experience on a one to one basis. With preferred degree, three years of required experience.

Preferred: Experience and can use good interpersonal, customer service, and problem-solving skills, work independently, and handle complex issues in a large, diverse research department. Proficiency in the following software applications is preferred: Microsoft Office including Microsoft Project and Visio.
