Job Summary:


GRANTS FUNDEDSHORT TERM ASSIGNMENT
The Program Manager for the School of Public and Global Affairs is a grant-funded position instrumental in bringing the School's programs to Newark, NJ, including the Master of Public Administration (MPA). Responsibilities include development and oversight of corporate trainings, and one-day University community leadership development. The Program Manager will work under the direction of the School's Founding Director and collaborate with the Faculty Coordinator of the MPA, the School's full-time recruiter, Graduate Admissions, the Office of University Advancement, other program directors, Public Relations, the Office of Grants and Sponsored Projects (GSP), and faculty. The Program Manager will work independently and collaboratively on projects. This position is currently funded through June 30, 2024. Its extension is contingent upon future availability of grant funding. For the position to continue, grant funding must be renewed and/or the University and programs need to promise sufficient revenue.

Required Qualifications:


1. Masters or doctorate degree: MPA or MBA preferred. Prior administrative experience in a university a plus. 2-3 years of experience in recruitment and program management preferred.
2. Clear evidence of successful leadership in government, non-profit or academic institution.
3. Strong writing skills; the ability to make successful grant applications.
4. Strong oral, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
5. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
6. Familiarity with the city of Newark. This is a Newark centric position.
7. Employment is contingent upon a satisfactory background check. Candidates for hire will be required to
sign a waiver authorizing the background check and produce a Social Security Card.
