Program Manager - Arrupe Global Scholars

The Arrupe Global Scholars program is a five-year MD and MPH program which seeks to educate and mentor medical students interested in pursuing careers in global health and health equity. This program seeks to change the traditional global health training opportunities for medical students by creating an innovative curriculum and philosophy grounded in the concepts of decolonizing global health and health equity. Implementing the Ignatian values of teaching its students to be agents of change and men and women for and with others, this program will uncover, explore and prepare the Arrupe Scholars to understand how racism and structural violence are embedded within health care systems and what role they play in working to improve these unjust systems.

 

Responsibilities:

·       Manage coordination of all educational material, including Arrupe-related classes, journal clubs, seminars, retreats and coordinating guest lecturers

·       Manage international partnerships and Creighton Site Directors

·       Manage recruitment and admissions activities

·       Coordinates interview activities and events

·       Assists prospective students/applicants with inquiries regarding requirements

·       Responsible for liaising with the Creighton marketing, communication, and program teams to develop content material used to advertise and share Arrupe stories

·       Liaise with SOM program M1, M2, M3, and M4 curriculum coordinators

·       Assist in development of materials and resources to be used at conferences and meetings

·       Manage learning management systems (BlueLine, Google drives, etc.)

·       Manage partnership with MPH program

·       Be a resource for Arrupe Scholars while working closely with academic success consultants

·       Serve as the representative for the Arrupe Global Scholars Program and Partnerships at meetings when the Executive Director is not present

·       Provide administrative support for the Executive Director

·       Domestic and/or international travel may be required for student recruitment and professional meetings

Desired Skills:

·       Four or more years of experience in:

o   Program operations in a health professions education program

·       Previous experience working with study abroad programs or on projects with international partners at an academic institution

·       Understands cultural humility with the ability to travel internationally

·       Experience with learning management systems (Canvas, Blackboard, BlueLine) and educational research is desirable

·       Excellent communication and organizational skills to assist Creighton faculty, medical students, domestic and international partners

 

Minimum Requirements:

·       Bachelor’s Degree or higher

·       Supervisory experience

·       4 years of related work experience

·       Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills

·       Organizational and time management skills

·       Analytical skills

·       Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

·       Ability to demonstrate motivation and self-direction

·       Ability to think independently, analyze problems and reach solutions.

·       Ability to work effectively in a team setting
