What You Will Do

 

Join the TA55 Facilities Operations Division (TA-55 DO) & provide the Associate Lab Director for Weapons Production (ALDWP) and their tenants, with Safe, Secure, Compliant and Available Facilities. The TA55 Facilities Operations Division has an immediate opening for a Program Manager 2 to provide support to the FOD at the TA-55 Waste Facilities, including TWF, RANT, and WCRR.  

Reporting to the TA55-WF Operations Manager, the Program Manager 2 is responsible for day-to-day oversight and management of resources to support facility operations in procurement, strategic planning, system design, installation processing, finance, and procedures in support of the Plutonium mission at LANL.   

What You Need

Minimum Job Requirements:

 

Program/Project Management: Working knowledge of and experience in program management of technical or operational work, including defining work scope, schedules, budgets, priorities, and performance milestones; developing cost, scope, and schedule baselines; reporting cost and schedule variance; and managing change control and risk.

Effective Communication: Experience in developing and nurturing effective internal customer relationships. Experience in interacting effectively with all levels of internal personnel; building trust, gaining consensus, and resolving conflicts. Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills.

Technical Experience: Demonstrated knowledge of planning and defining program scope for radiological and nuclear facility operations, including integrated safety management, engineering and maintenance, integrated work management and regulatory compliance.

Education: Position requires a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution and 5 years directly related technical and project management experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation.  At this level an advanced degree may be expected.

Desired Qualifications:

LANL:  Demonstrated experience working in radiological and nuclear facilities at LANL. Demonstrated experience interacting/interfacing with Laboratory weapons divisions/groups and NNSA federal managers.

Teaming: Demonstrated experience in developing and fostering successful cross-organizational teams to solve complex problems.

Position commitment: Regular appointment employees are required to serve a period of continuous service in their current position in order to be eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory. Directive 206.2 - Employment with Triad requires a favorable decision by NNSA indicating employee is suitable under NNSA Supplemental Directive 206.2 Please note that this requirement applies only to citizens of the United States.  Foreign nationals are subject to a similar requirement under DOE Order 142.3A.

Clearance: Q (Position will be cleared to this level).  Applicants selected will be subject to a Federal background investigation and must meet eligibility requirements* for access to classified matter.

 

*Eligibility requirements:  To obtain a clearance, an individual must be at least 18 years of age; U.S. citizenship is required except in very limited circumstances. See DOE Order 472.2 for additional information.
