INFECTIOUS DISEASES (IN-INFD-IUINA)

The Division of Infectious Diseases is home to 30 plus full-time faculty, 10 affiliate faculty, 5 Advanced Practice Providers, 4 - 6 ACGME fellows and 30 plus full-time staff directly supporting all 3 missions of research, education, and clinical practice. The fellowship program is ACGME accredited and combines excellent clinical and academic training. We play an active role in the education of learners from the medical student level through fellowship.

Clinical practice takes place at 5 hospitals within the Indiana University Health (IUH) System, Eskenazi Health Hospital (Marion County's safety net hospital), the Roudebush VA, and specialized care at the bone marrow transplant unit at St. Francis Hospital and orthopedic complications at OrthoIndy.

The Division has a rich history in research and currently has $7.6 plus million in extramural funding from the NIH and industry. We hold several endowments including an endowed chair, and endowed fellowship position, and an endowment which supports research related to HIV.

Department-Specific Responsibilities

  • Coordinates all programs and activities of the Indiana Primary Care Advancement in Clinical Training (INPACT) grant.
  • Coordinates all program retreats, administrative meetings, and purchasing.
  • Manages, collates, maintains, and disseminates periodically required federal grant progress reports.
  • Provides direct support to the INPACT Program Manager and other INPACT grant leaders.
  • Supports the implementation, maintenance, and communication of new course materials.

General Responsibilities

  • Conducts research and compiles materials and information for departmental programs.
  • Prepares records of program activities; oversees and ensures the timely processing and delivery of required materials.
  • Reviews the policies and procedures involved in departmental programs; suggests improvements; and ensures that rules comply with university standards.
  • Analyzes data and information generated or produced by program; writes reports and other written materials based on this data.
  • Verifies the accuracy of all data and information used or generated by program; resolves any discrepancies or problems.
  • Responds to requests for program information by staff, students, and faculty; handles any necessary correspondence.
  • Serves as liaison for department; coordinates activities and exchanges information.

EDUCATION

Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent (such as HSED or GED). 

WORK EXPERIENCE

  • 4 years of related work experience.

This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus.
