Responsibilities*

Provide consultation and expertise in training grant assessment and evaluation to support government-funded training programs within the medical school and to ensure the continuity of extensive training grant portfolio. Manage all phases of the evaluation process, including problem definition, planning, implementation, analysis, interpretation, and reporting of findings. Develop and/or select appropriate evaluation methodology, data management, and data analysis tools. Use mixed methods research design. Draft written reports, contribute to publications and other dissemination products, and present findings. Provide consultation and expertise to basic science PhD and postdoctoral programs regarding assessment and evaluation of curriculum and learning outcomes. Perform education research. Develop protocols for research with human subjects and follow IRB procedures and documentation including IRB submissions. Up to 50% remote work from home.


Required Qualifications*

Master's in Educational Studies, Statistics, Survey Methodology, Higher Education, or related + 3 years of experience performing assessment and evaluation within higher education, specifically STEM/science education; publishing peer-reviewed manuscripts in the field of education research; designing and conducting qualitative and quantitative evaluation studies; developing data collection instruments; and conducting mixed methods analyses.


Background Screening

Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings.  Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act. Pre-employment drug testing applies to all selected candidates, including new or additional faculty and staff appointments, as well as transfers from other U-M campuses.
