Position Summary

This full-time, 12-month tenure track program director position for the Physician Assistant Program (PA) in Erie, PA begins July 1, 2022 or upon hire. The Physician Assistant Program at the Erie, Pennsylvania campus has a longstanding history of educating outstanding physician assistants who impact patients’ lives every day. Established more than 40 years ago, the Physician Assistant Program is committed to health, education, advocacy, and leadership. The Program Director is responsible for the provision of education to students, administration of the program, including adherence to ARC-PA Standards of Accreditation, policies and procedures, and the continued evolution of the Physician Assistant Program. The successful candidate will provide effective leadership including, but not limited to, responsibility for communication, ongoing program planning and assessment, and fiscal management, The individual will participate in curriculum development and provide didactic and laboratory instruction. Release time will be available to support the administrative functions of the position. Candidates must be able to support the University’s inclusive Mission, its Catholic identity and its liberal arts and professional education traditions.
Required Qualifications
To be considered, candidates must provide evidence of a minimum of three years of full-time higher education experience, including demonstrated evidence of effectiveness in teaching and advising, including curriculum development, and a commitment to service. Candidates must possess strong communication, leadership, problem solving, and organization skills. The successful candidate must have a master’s degree and must be a graduate of an accredited physician Assistant program. Candidates must hold current or emeritus National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) certification and hold or be eligible for Pennsylvania licensure.
