Job Description

The Program Director, under general direction of the Texas A&M Cybersecurity Center Director, directs the administration of assigned programs, including planning, organizing, staffing, leading, and controlling program activities.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees and manages all aspects of the CLDP (strategic and tactical)
  • Develops and manages program strategic plan and budget
  • Leads recruiting and retention of students
  • Informs TAMU leadership of program activities, accomplishments, and challenges
  • Collaborates with SMC and DoD stakeholders as well as other potential partners
  • Work collaboratively with other TAMC2 staff and programs to identify opportunities for partnership and joint activities that align with the goals and objectives of TAMC2 and ensuring the CLDP program's activities contribute to the achievement of the broader mission of TAMC2
  • Serves as TAMC2 Deputy Director; direct report to TAMC2 Director
  • Designs program elements and curriculum, especially mentoring activities
  • Develops strategies for recruiting and retaining students in the program
  • Recruits and mentors students
  • Responsible for contract management and execution in accordance with Federal Government, DoD, and TAMUS/TAMU policies and procedures
  • Manages stakeholder relationships (e.g., interface with lead institution (prime contractor) and other colleges, manages relationships across TAMU/TAMUS enterprise)
  • Attends and prepares A&M’s presence at governance body meetings
  • Manages program staff, schedules, scope, and execution
  • Develops long-term vision for the program and shapes opportunities to enable sustainability of the program

Required Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Experience:

  • Ten years of related experience.

Preferred Experience

  • Cybersecurity experience in the U.S. Federal Government and the Department of Defense
  • Experience working in military/Department of Defense education structure or commands
  • Demonstrated experience starting up new programs involving significant amounts of coordination and influence across large and complex organizations
  • Experience planning and initiating multi-faceted programs
  • Cybersecurity experience with the Department of Defense

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Self-starter who is capable of navigating ambiguous and complex environments
  • Leads through influence, not authority
