Position Description


Advertised Job Summary
Arnold Childhood Obesity Initiative Research Group is looking for a Program Coordinator who will coordinate and manage day-to-day activities of assigned research projects; supervise, evaluate, and oversee work assignments of staff; assist in developing measurement protocols and procedures; train and evaluate data collection staff on measurement protocols and procedures; monitor measurement activities for quality assurance; develop, coordinate, and manage schedules to ensure that measurement tasks are completed in a timely manner; prepare and submit IRB materials; participate in project meetings and present status reports to investigators and staff.
Required Education and Experience
Master’s degree and 1 year of related program experience, or bachelor’s degree and 3 years related experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Expertise in use of basic exercise testing equipment, personal computers and the Internet. A working knowledge of Microsoft Office package. Experience in program coordination; experience or interest in measuring physical activity in children or youth is preferred. Strong verbal communication skills and ability to effectively interact with school personnel, children and adolescents, and parents.


Job Duties


Job Duty
Assist in developing protocols and procedures for measurement activities for school age children using exercise physiological laboratory equipment, to include metabolic testing equipment, accelerometers and calibrators. Development of protocols will lead to preparation and submission of Institutional Review Board (IRB) materials to the University’s Office of Research Compliance. Training and evaluating data collection staff on said protocols and procedures.

Coordinate and manage day-to-day activities of assigned research projects to maintain continuity of project and ensure all milestones are met appropriately and in a timely manner. Organize, attend and participate in stakeholder meetings to present measurement status reports of grant activities to investigators and staff.

Supervise, evaluate, and oversee work assignments of staff members while monitoring measurement activities for quality assurance, as updates are reported on a yearly basis to the funding agency. Other duties as assigned.
