The Department of Microbiology, within the College of Arts and Sciences, seeks a Graduate Program Coordinator to join our team. The College of Arts and Sciences is the largest college and the academic heart of the university. The College hosts 81 majors. With 38 departments, 20+ world-class research centers, and more than 2,000 faculty and staff members, students have the unique opportunity to study with the best artists, scholars, and scientists in their field. Manages and coordinates Department of Microbiology graduate studies program; provides recommendations and information to the graduate studies committee in all graduate student related matters including admissions; responds to all inquiries, requests and concerns of incoming and current graduate students; Initiate and track graduate student appointments; plans and organizes graduate student recruiting; maintains and compiles statistical reports on all aspects of the graduate program, including all related electronic approval/submission systems related to graduate enrollment, graduation, examinations, etc.; works directly with the Graduate School on any student related issues or inquires as the main departmental contact; initiate and track hourly student workers for the department; participates in OSU training and professional workshops; initiates and processes travel requests and reimbursements for all Department personnel via OSUs online travel system; arranges travel for faculty candidates, seminar speakers, and other guests; maintains the Department’s website; assists faculty committees as needed; serves as the Department purchasing card manager; manages purchasing card transactions and uploads receipts into eRequest system; assist faculty, staff, and students with troubleshooting any related purchasing issues; contacts bank regarding transactions, when needed, reconciles monthly purchasing card charges; initiates eRequests on behalf of Department personnel as needed; Assist with undergraduate recruitment as needed

Bachelor’s degree in business administration, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; experience in program planning and administration required; preferably a graduate-level academic program.
Experience working with a graduate program desired; Reasonable knowledge of University policies, rules, regulations and procedures.
