JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Primary duties are organizing, coordinating, and planning operational facets of a program and its related activities which include, but are not limited to the following: establishing long-term operational objectives, researching factors that may impact the success of the program, and working with individuals or groups to research and document program requirements in order to provide appropriate input into the development of strategic plans.
  • Develops work plans to accomplish program goals and objectives and monitors progress toward their achievement.
  • Conducts research and gathers information to develop various publications.
  • Develops promotional materials which may include content for reports, briefings, newsletters, grants or other written information related to the program.
  • Assists in developing and coordinating program-related conferences, conventions, or meetings.
  • Monitors expenditures and may participate in the budget planning process and prepare financial reports.
  • May assist in identifying funding resources and developing fund-raising strategies and initiatives.
  • Prepares operational and statistical reports.
  • Conducts training, represents the program at meetings and conferences, and networks with affiliated groups.
  • May supervise assigned project staff, interns and/or volunteers.
  • Performs related responsibilities as required.
  • This is not an administrative support position.

Goals of the Position

  • Maintain excellence of current programs and make recommendations for enhancement.
  • Create systems, materials and training for the Office of Student Affairs.
  • Ensure quality of programming for students and partners using sound principles related to public health practice and following CEPH competencies and accreditation standards.
  • Develop and maintain solid working relationships with external and internal staff, faculty and students.

Student Transition & Well-Being Programming

  • Assist the Office of Student Affairs in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of Student Transition Programs (e.g. New Student Orientation) and mental health and well-being programs (e.g. Help Us Help You).
  • Collaborate with school and university stakeholders to communicate resources available to students, in addition to planning programs related to student health and well-being using theory and evidence-based methods.
  • Assist in the coordination of student referrals and resources for mental health and wellness.
  • Track student engagement data and develop reports once per academic semester.

Communications and Collaboration

  • Develop communications materials for Student Engagement and Enrollment Services Teams for in-person use, e-mail, and social media.
  • Regularly promote student resources, programs, and services to internal and external stakeholders, including students, faculty, staff, and alumni.
  • Supervise Student Engagement Graduate Assistants.
  • Assist other Office of Student Affairs Units as needed.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in a field related to the program and two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Demonstrated experience in program planning, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Evidence of excellent written, verbal, data management and facilitation skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in working with diverse populations.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and maintaining various stakeholder relationships.
  • Demonstrated ability in event management.
  • Evidence of being able to troubleshoot and identify solutions to problems.
  • Ability to supervise student personnel.

 

NOTE: Position tasks are generally required to be performed in-person at an Emory University location.  Remote work from home day options may be granted at department discretion. Emory reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to employee.
