About the CECH Systems Development & Improvement Center

The Systems Development & Improvement (SDI) Center in Columbus, Ohio fosters the development, implementation, and evaluation of PK20 education research and demonstration efforts that improve opportunities to learn for children and youth, their families, and the professionals who support them. At the core of many Center activities is a commitment to advocacy on behalf of all children, as well as partnerships - with school districts, with professional associations, with institutions of higher education, with regional providers, with the state - that improve conditions and outcomes for students with disabilities and other marginalized groups of learners (e.g., learners who are economically disadvantaged, learners at risk of school failure for a variety of reasons, etc.).


Job Overview

The University of Cincinnati’s Systems Development & Improvement (UC SDI) Center in Columbus, Ohio is seeking a full-time Program Coordinator to organize daily operations and manage communications for the office. The Program Coordinator will utilize customer service skills to support service provision and general inquiry communication. The Program Coordinator will work with the SDI Center team to assist in planning, coordinating, and executing statewide and regional professional learning opportunities for school district, higher education, agency, regional, and state personnel; as well as families and other partners. The Program Coordinator must have strong written and oral communication skills as they will be interacting with and serving as a liaison for the Center stakeholders and participants, educational service centers and state support teams, and other partner groups.  
 

This position will also perform general office requests to support the SDI team and projects and to ensure that all Center needs are met in a timely manner. The Program Coordinator will be eligible for a flexible schedule but must be able to come into the Columbus Office 2-3 days per week.
 

Funding for this position is based upon the availability of external funds.


Essential Functions
  • Design/create and conduct seminars, classes, workshops or programs.
  • Develop program objectives and monitor quantitative and qualitative data on progress toward objectives. Review objectives to identify problems and solutions, prioritize solutions and develop action steps for program improvement.
  • Provide financial administrative support for program initiatives.
  • Develop, administer and analyze assessment/evaluation questionnaires. Compile statistics and prepare reports.
  • Develop and implement marketing strategies to recruit students and program participants.
  • Interact with staff faculty, external agencies and other university departments.
  • May conduct research and analyze relevant literature, other benchmark information to develop grant proposals, new program ideas and propose program changes.
  • May provide direct and/or indirect supervision to exempt and non-exempt staff (i.e., hiring/firing, performance evaluations, disciplinary action, approve time off, etc.).

Required Education
  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Five (5) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.

Required Experience

One (1) year of program coordination experience.


Additional Qualifications Considered
  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
