Job Description

The J. Orin Edson Entrepreneurship + Innovation Institute (Edson E+I) within the Knowledge Enterprise is seeking a Program Coordinator Sr to join their Youth Entrepreneurship (YE) team. Under the direction and guidance of the Program Manager, YE Technology, you will lead in planning, coordinating, and reviewing the activities and operations of the grant-funded school programs within the J. Orin Edson Entrepreneurship + Innovation Institute (Edson E+I).

This is a grant-funded position and is contingent on future grant funding.

Essential Duties

Strategic (10%)

  • Develop and sustain collaborative business relations with external partners including program delivery partners, school administration, and others.
  • Forge and maintain powerful relationships with internal staff and faculty across the university in order to engage the broader ASU and Edson E+I community in youth entrepreneurship programs.
  • Engage community stakeholders to share Verizon Innovative Learning Program opportunities

Programmatic (50%)

  • Support a portfolio of Verizon Innovative Learning schools to assist teachers and administrators in meeting programmatic objectives. Deliver, track, manage, and report on the progress of a population of Verizon Innovative Learning Program participants. 
  • Lead development and delivery of content at presentations, training, workshops, and professional development sessions for teachers at participating schools.
  • Develop and facilitate workshops, meetings, or conferences with high impact on program and/or participants, coordinate logistics, scheduling, and participant communications. 
  • Lead the planning, coordination, and facilitation of monthly collaboration calls with teachers at participating schools. 
  • Prepare periodic reports for internal and external stakeholders on program activities, progress, status, and escalations. 
  • Collaborate with the Youth Entrepreneurship team to evaluate program effectiveness and implement improved methods. Review results and take proper action based on the outcome; collaborate to streamline program growth. 
  • Track, manage and report feedback data and information regarding school engagement including teacher effectiveness, a timeline of technology implementation, and program deliverables.  
  • Synthesize and analyze qualitative and quantitative data trends in order to create iterative changes within programs, as well as understand the scope and scale of programmatic impact within various communities.  
  • Lead data collection and artifact collection from schools related to various programs and report to Program Manager. 
  • Identify, develop, and report process improvement for team scalability and sustainability to the Program Manager.  
  • Interact and maintain as liaison with partner teachers, staff, and outside/community agencies in facilitating program objectives.

Technology (30%)

  • Develop and deliver technology and software virtual learning-related projects for the Verizon Innovative Learning Program to ensure all needs are met.  
  • Support the coordination of designated makerspaces with emerging technologies in middle schools across the nation. Troubleshoot and assist in the setup of machines, equipment, and materials within the maker space for students, staff, and visitors.
  • Lead the planning, coordination, and facilitation of collaboration calls with teachers at participating schools for ongoing technical support. 
  • Support material and technology procurement for all Youth Entrepreneurship grant-funded programs.  

Other (10%)

  • Participate with other ASU or community initiatives that align with the goals and mission of Edson E+I. 
  • Engage and represent Edson E+I Youth Entrepreneurship and ASU by serving on various department, unit, and university committees.
  • Other duties as assigned. 

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a field appropriate to the area of assignment AND four years administrative/coordinate program experience; OR, Master's degree in field appropriate to area of assignment AND two years administrative/coordinate program experience; OR, Eight years of progressively responsible administrative/coordinate program experience; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.


Desired Qualifications

  • Demonstrated knowledge of K12 education best practices. 
  • Experience in STEAM-related fields, educational technology, or emerging technologies.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of methods for supporting educators in a virtual environment.
  • Experience in a Title One school. 
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Diversity and Inclusion. 
  • Experience in planning, budgeting, implementing, and evaluating projects.

Working Environment

  • Work duties are performed in diverse settings including, ASU SkySong (Scottsdale, AZ), and various event/program locations.  
  • Regular activities include the use of office equipment including a laptop computer; subject to extended periods of sitting, standing, walking, and lifting up to 25 pounds.
  • May require a flexible work schedule, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate events, projects and initiatives.
  • Travel to campus and partner locations will be required.
  • Requires the ability to quickly change priorities.
  • Will include regular review of tasks.
