This position is evenly split between the Evaluation & Continuous Improvement program and the Communications program of the Georgia Clinical & Translational Science Alliance (Georgia CTSA). The Georgia CTSA begins its seventeenth year thanks to a five year $74M grant from the NIH to improve human health by transforming the research and training environment to enhance the efficiency and quality of clinical and translational research. To ensure Georgia CTSA’s emphasis on improving treatments reaches the communities and populations at highest risk for poor health outcomes, Georgia CTSA has established its central theme aimed at addressing health equity statewide. Health equity is incorporated as a core component of all Georgia CTSA’s work. The Georgia CTSA is one of 65 medical research institutions located throughout the nation.

 

Communications List of Duties:

  • Help execute and fulfill Georgia CTSA Strategic Communications Plan tactics.
  • Collateral material (print, signage, exhibit, etc.) planning, coordination, and creation with vendors and programs.
  • Meeting/event/exhibit support.
  • Organization chart maintenance.
  • Online service request customer/program follow up.
  • Web calendar maintenance.
  • Assist with small graphic design projects.
  • Maintain photo archive.
  • Use Cascade (website content management system) to maintain website.
  • Draft success stories for website featuring Georgia CTSA investigators, scholars/trainees, partner institutions, science advances, etc.
  • Build and distribute weekly e-newsletter.
  • Social media account maintenance.
  • Maintain four internal and external promotional listservs.
  • Sponsored account maintenance

Communications Preferred Qualifications:

  • This person must have good communications skills, both written and oral, and be proactive, accountable, and organized. Knowledge of computer-based programs such as Microsoft Word, Power Point, Excel, listservs, Google Calendar, a website content management system, and/or a database is preferred. One (1) writing sample is required.

Evaluation and Continuous Improvement List of Duties:

  • Data entry, database management, and report preparation.
  • Assist in design and evaluation of program implementation and activities.
  • Assist in designing surveys and collecting survey data.
  • Scientific abstract and manuscript preparation.
  • Liaise with internal and external staff to collect and update evaluation data.
  • Consult with Evaluation Director and Associate Director to facilitate ongoing process of program design, implementation and revision.

Evaluation and Continuous Improvement Preferred Qualifications:

  • Commitment to health equity and community engaged evaluation.
  • Knowledge of public health or clinical and translational science, evaluation methodologies, and presentation of findings.
  • Experience in qualitative methodology, including designing qualitative data collection instruments and analyzing qualitative data.

 

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Primary duties are organizing, coordinating, and planning operational facets of a program and its related activities which include, but are not limited to the following: establishing long-term operational objectives, researching factors that may impact the success of the program, and working with individuals or groups to research and document program requirements in order to provide appropriate input into the development of strategic plans.
  • Develops work plans to accomplish program goals and objectives and monitors progress toward their achievement.
  • Conducts research and gathers information to develop various publications.
  • Develops promotional materials which may include content for reports, briefings, newsletters, grants or other written information related to the program.
  • Assists in developing and coordinating program-related conferences, conventions, or meetings.
  • Monitors expenditures and may participate in the budget planning process and prepare financial reports.
  • May assist in identifying funding resources and developing fund-raising strategies and initiatives.
  • Prepares operational and statistical reports.
  • Conducts training, represents the program at meetings and conferences, and networks with affiliated groups.
  • May supervise assigned project staff, interns and/or volunteers.
  • Performs related responsibilities as required.
  • This is not an administrative support position.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in a field related to the program and two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master of Public Health or related degree
  • Experience using Microsoft Teams, spreadsheets, & graphic design applications, strong attention to detail.

 

NOTE: Position tasks are generally required to be performed in-person at an Emory University location.  Remote work from home day options may be granted at department discretion. Emory reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to employee. 

 

Work location will include a combination of Emory campus and telework, with occasional travel to sites around and outside of Atlanta
