Position Summary:


Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Program Coordinator for the Outpatient Services Department within Rutgers University Behavioral Health Care.
The primary purpose of the Program Coordinator is to work in collaboration with Program Manager, and to function as a member of the clinical and administrative leadership team in the Outpatient Services Coordinated Specialty Care (CSC) Program. Primarily responsible for providing community outreach and education, interface with potential individuals served, supervision to multi-disciplinary staff and providing direct services to individual within the CSC impacted by psychosis. Will ensure compliance with all regulations.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
  • Provides staff with direction regarding consumer/patient intervention through individual supervision, group supervision, team meetings, and case conferences.
  • Monitors staff performance and at minimum, on a bi-annual basis, meets individually with assigned staff to review performance goals, and compliance with mandatory continuing education requirements.
  • Facilitates weekly team meetings to review cases, communicate supervisory updates, and program developments.
  • Effectively contributes to and supports an environment that respects and enhances the individual, their expressed choices and preferences, and that enhances the positive self image of consumer/patients and staff.
  • Closely monitors program compliance with all licensing and regulatory requirements.
  • As required by individual program, assumes direct care responsibilities for consumer/patients and provides comprehensive initial assessments, individual, group, family therapy, supportive counseling, crisis intervention, psycho-education, and case management services as clinically indicated.
  • Monitors staff compliance with all documentation requirements on a consistent basis via documentation reports, supervisory tools and chart review.

Minimum Education and Experience:

  • Master's Degree in a related mental health discipline plus four (4) years of post-master's mental health experience.

Physical Demands: Ability to walk throughout the day, stand for extended periods of time, and focus on assigned tasks in a hectic noisy environment.
Work Environment: Varied work settings include office and community setting. May be exposed to infectious and contagious diseases. Subject to varying and unpredictable situations. Handles emergency or crisis situations. May be exposed to clients exhibiting assaultive or aggressive behaviors. Quiet to moderately loud office setting.
