Job Summary
Eastern Washington University (EWU), a regional comprehensive university, is seeking skilled and team-oriented applicants for our Program Coordinator, Professional and Continuing Education position within our Professional and Continuing Education unit in Academic Affairs.
The successful candidate will report to the Assistant Vice President for Professional & Continuing Education. The Professional and Continuing Education Program Coordinator will coordinate operational tasks, organize, manage, and develop processes and systems to improve and maintain PCE offerings. Primary duties include assisting with registrations, student support, administrative support, and record keeping.
The position requires a high standard of personal and professional ethics, and the ability to communicate, advise, and work effectively with all constituent groups internal (students, staff, and faculty) and external stakeholders to the institution. This position will exercise independent judgment in interpreting and applying rules and regulations.

Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Two years of increasingly responsible office experience providing administrative support.
  • Demonstrated experience with project management and project implementation.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage concurrent projects.
  • Proficient computer skills that include Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Candidate must demonstrate interest, ability and/or experience in promoting cultural competency, universal accessibility, and/or diversity.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree.
  • Experience with Banner and/or CampusCE.
  • Experience within higher education.
  • Project Management Professional Certification.

    Student Registration Services
    • Maintain PCE website including entering information into the student management system.
    • Process in-person registration forms, registration requests via email, non-degree seeking registration forms, and EWU Professional and Continuing Education registrations.
    • Process course drops, complete withdrawals, drops due to non-attendance per instructor request, enrollment cancellations, and assist with drops due to lack of pre-requisites.
    • Manage and resolve error report generated through the student and education management systems.
    • Explain registration process to students, check on registration status of students, monitor the PCE email account, follow up on registration issues, and collect and process registrations for students with the instructor’s approval to add a class that is full.
    • Exercise independent judgment in the interpretation of federal and state policies, University policies, and departmental procedures. Determine when exceptions to drop/add deadlines, fees, etc. are applicable due to university error.
    • Create and maintain course completion documentation including certificates, course transcripts, and documentation related to licensure and certification.
    • Communicate with faculty, staff, and departments regarding student registrations.

    • Act as primary contact for the program.
    • Respond to walk-ins, phone calls and emails from students, faculty, and staff with excellent customer service.
    • Make students aware of academic resources such as Degree Audit, myEWU Portal, EagleNET, and Schedule Planner and provide basic instruction on these tools.
    • Answer general questions.
    • Maintain knowledge of important dates within PCE, including registration, refund, and withdrawal deadlines.
    • Manage PCE Academic Calendar
    • Assess charges and late fees to student accounts.
    • Provide administrative support to PCE office.
    • Participate in training events and other promotional activities.
    • Provide task-based project support as needed.

    • Transfer and record student, course, and program information in the appropriate location following established guidelines.
