About the School of Information Technology

The School of Information Technology is a national leader in studying solutions and needs that connect people, information, and the technology of the time. The SoIT is home to Ohio's first Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy degrees in Information Technology. In addition, it is home to Ohio's first ABET accredited Bachelor of Science in Information Technology and a Bachelor of Science in Cybersecurity. The SoIT has been growing at 20% annually and currently serves more than 2300 students with 31 full-time faculty members, 28 full-time staff, and 43 adjunct faculty. The SoIT is home to several centers including an NSA/DHS Center for Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense, the Information Technology Solutions Center, the Ohio Cyber Range Institute, Applied Machine Learning and Intelligence Center, and the Smart Synergies Lab.

About the Ohio Cyber Range Institute  

The Ohio Cyber Range Institute (OCRI), housed at the University of Cincinnati, is a partnership among state agencies and academic institutions that is led by UC, the Ohio Adjutant General and the Ohio Department. OCRI’s mission is to advance cybersecurity education, workforce, and economic development. OCRI administers the Ohio Cyber Range as a state-wide tool that supports programming for K-20 courses and events; full-spectrum training opportunities, including incident response teams; industry workforce and economic development; cyber security research; as well as government agency support among other programs.  


Job Overview

The School of Information Technology seeks to hire a Program Coordinator, whose principal workload will be to support the Ohio Cyber Range Institute (OCRI). This is a grant-funded position; the continuation of this position will be based on the availability of funds and the continuation of the grant. 
 

The position is housed in the School of Information Technology (SoIT) and integrates with its mission and strategic plan. The position works within the OCRI governing structure and reports to the OCRI Program Manager and the SoIT Director.   
  

In general, this role will work closely with the OCRI program manager to support the OCRI mission and executive staff leadership. In particular, the role is responsible for coordinating regional and state-wide meetings and events. In addition, the role will coordinate OCRI internal processes and logistics, OCRI communication channels, OCRI knowledge management, OCRI space and inventories, and OCRI executive staff leadership. 
   

The Program Coordinator is expected to maintain the highest level of professional competency and to contribute to the success of the School’s strategic plan, while assisting OCRI staff as needed, and collaborating with the different teams in the SoIT to achieve their program goals. 

 

Under general supervision from the OCRI Program Manager, the Program Coordinator will assist in the planning and coordination of administration and/or operational activities of substantial variety and complexity in the OCRI.  


Essential Functions
  • Develop program objectives and monitor quantitative and qualitative data on progress toward objectives. Review objectives to identify problems and solutions, prioritize solutions and develop action steps for program improvement.
  • Assist with financial administrative support for program initiatives.
  • Administer and analyze assessment/evaluation questionnaires. Compile statistics and prepare reports.
  • Develop and implement marketing strategies to recruit students and program participants.
  • Interact with staff faculty, external agencies and other university departments.
  • May conduct research and analyze relevant literature, other benchmark information to develop grant proposals, new program ideas and propose program changes.
  • May provide direct and/or indirect supervision to exempt and non-exempt staff (i.e., hiring/firing, performance evaluations, disciplinary action, approve time off, etc.).
  • Perform related duties based on departmental need. This job description can be changed at any time.

Required Education
  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Five (5) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.

Required Experience

One (1) year of program coordination experience.
