The University of Cincinnati Blue Ash College invites applications for a Program Coordinator of Student Life position.  The University of Cincinnati Blue Ash College is one of the largest regional colleges in Ohio and one of the most diverse colleges at the University of Cincinnati.  The college is in Blue Ash, Ohio fifteen miles north of the uptown campus, on 135 acres in a park-like setting. Job Overview

The Student Life Office is seeking a Program Coordinator to administer support for and assist student organizations; coordinate and implement the department’s signature student facing college-wide events; serve as the college expert on GetInvolvedUC!, our platform for communicating and managing student organizations and campus activities; and support student leadership programs, including supervision of student leaders.

 

This position reports to the Director of Student Life and will work collaboratively with a dynamic team to help students connect, engage, learn and grow both in and outside the classroom. The department is responsible for orientation, cocurricular and extracurricular programs and initiatives to support student success and retention. The Program Coordinator (PC) is a core member of the team and will help with developing, implementing, coordinating and evaluating of extracurricular programs.

 

This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule with the option for 1-2 remote working days per week. Residence must be within the Cincinnati Tri-State area (OH/IN/KY) with reasonable distance to campus to have the ability to report to campus as required. Remote work arrangements are subject to change in accordance with university policies.  This position is full time 100% FTE.


Essential Functions
  • Design/create and conduct workshops and programs including Bearcat Welcome, Fall Fest, Homecoming and Spring Fling.
  • Develop program objectives and monitor quantitative and qualitative data on progress toward objectives. Review objectives to identify problems and solutions, prioritize solutions and develop action steps for program improvement.
  • Provide financial administrative support for program initiatives and student organizations
  • Develop, administer, and analyze assessment/evaluation questionnaires. Compile statistics and prepare reports.
  • Develop and implement marketing strategies to recruit students and program participants.
  • Interact with staff faculty, external agencies, and other university departments.
  • May conduct research and analyze relevant literature, other benchmark information to develop grant proposals, new program ideas and propose program changes.
  • In collaboration with members of the Student Life team, develop a student leadership cocurricular program including training and assessment of student learning.
  • Supervise student workers, interns, and volunteers. Including but not limited to: recruiting, hiring/firing, developing work schedule, and coordinating work load.
  • Interact with staff, faculty and external agencies and other university departments as it relates to student leadership and extracurricular programming.
  • Perform related duties based on departmental need. This job description can be changed at any time.

Required Education
  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Five (5) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.

Required Experience

One (1) year of program coordination experience.


Additional Qualifications Considered
  • Master’s Degree in College Student Personnel, Student Affairs or related field
  • Experience mentoring or supervising college student

Physical Requirements/Work Environment
  • Office environment/no specific unusual physical or environmental demands.
