Associate's degree and three or more years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and work experience. Grade ND1 Wage Minimum $15.41/hr

Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience working in a Travel medicine or vaccine clinic preferred. 

Position Description

The Program Coordinator will support the patient care and research activities in Global Health Program in the Division of Infectious Diseases, including the International Vaccine and Travel Clinic and the Civil Surgeon and Refugee Clinic. This position is responsible for coordinating the daily tasks of the Global Health program operations.  The Program Coordinator serves as a critical member of the patient care team as they provide initial in-person or telephone patient consults for Travel Clinic and Civil Surgeon patients, gathering key pieces of information and providing initial recommendations. The Program Coordinator will process and reconcile all patient payment and billing tasks for the clinics, as well as update patient medical records in EPIC, which includes documents showing vaccine history and visit activities. The Program Coordinator will monitor vaccine and supply inventory, working with the clinic staff and nurses to maintain an adequate stock. The Program Coordinator will also coordinator the activities of research study operations including scheduling study participants, preparing paperwork, and collecting initial data. Other duties as assigned.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate front desk operations of the International Vaccine and Travel and the Civil Surgeon clinics, including check-in and check-out procedures, answering phone, scheduling, necessary training on immunization procedure, and coordinating work of temporary/student assistants assisting at the front desk.
  • Provide initial consultation to program patients in-person or over the phone based on clinic, itinerary, and patient status, and update patient medical record.
  • Coordinate all patient billing, create invoices, collect payment, and batching out daily credit card and cash payments for services rendered at the Global Health Clinics.
  • Serves as primary vaccine coordinator for state and federal Vaccine for Children program.
  • Oversees use of VFC vaccines including monitoring vaccine inventory and storage and ordering new vaccines as required.
  • Coordinate the research activities in the Global Health clinics.
