Position Description

The Program Coordinator-Diversity recruitment position will assist Office of Undergraduate Admissions diversity recruitment strategies through coordinating recruitment events and supporting students and parents through the admissions process, via phone, e-mail, and in-person. In cooperation with the Assistant Director of Visits and Events, the Program Coordinator will oversee the group visit and shadow student program, as well as serve as the primary advisor for the undergraduate diversity student ambassadors that assist with recruitment. Program Coordinator will also respond to daily needs of the functional area as needed, and address general admissions inquires via phone, e-mail, and in person visits.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the "Order Your Educational Steps" Group Visit and "Up Close and Personal" Shadow Visit programs.
  • Delegate responsibilities of involvement in group and individual visits accordingly. Serve as the advisor to the Diversity Student Ambassadors.
  • Advance the diversity recruitment goals by attending fairs/ community events, assisting parents and students through the admissions process, and serving as a reviewer for the Woodford R. Porter Scholarship Program.
  • Holistically review and adjudicate undergraduate admissions applications.
  • Assist and support all enrollment management and new student program recruitment efforts.
  • Serve on the Counselor on Call and campus visit program Rotation.
  • Assist with the general outreach and recruitment efforts to prospective students in Kentucky, including high school visits, fairs, phone calls, and e-mails.
  • Assist in the development and planning of on campus large scale recruiting and service events such as Accolade, Porter Open House, Cardinal Preview Day, , Think College Now, Porter Scholar Reception, etc.
  • Attend professional organization conferences and meetings in order to enhance job performance and make recommendations for program updates through professional development.
