Position Summary:

Under minimal supervision, coordinates administrative and logistical support for International Medical Education. Carries out established program objectives and directives. Follows established guidelines or protocols.  Coordinates programmatic activities and functions associated with the admission/processing of international observers/ shadowers, graduate students, teachers, speakers, and scholars who wish to come to UAB and/or its regional campuses to participate in various non-credit or degree earning activities.

Salary Range: $18.35 - $29.80

 

Qualifications

 

Bachelor's degree in a related field and one (1) year of related experience required. OR AN EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE. 

Preferred Qualifications:   

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in program coordination/development or as administrative assistant.  
  • Intermediate or better proficiency in MS Word and Excel.  
  • Excellent time-management and organizational skills.  
  • Previous experience working with international physicians, clinicians, researchers, technicians, or students and program coordination. 
  • Excellent command of English language and grammar, both verbal and written.  
  • Preferably, UAB experience and knowledge of systems and processes  
  • Strong facilitation, interpersonal, and presentation skills, attention to details and excellent critical thinking skills.  
  • Ability to interact with others in a team environment or alone.
