The Program Coordinator for Student Experiences and Support in Student Affairs at Texas A&M University at Qatar is responsible for coordinating and overseeing the planning, development, and implementation of various programs within the department of Student Affairs. and overseeing all student travel for the University. This position is NOT located in the United States. One must be willing to relocate to Doha, Qatar.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Four years of experience in office administration or project management

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills in English
  • Ability to plan and organize effectively
  • Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others

Preferred Experience:

  • Four years of experience in office administration or project management
  • Knowledge of FERPA and previous experience working in a multicultural environment or higher education institution

Responsibilities:

Coordinate Student Experience Programs

  • Designs and implements international learning opportunities.

  • Manage the Texas Summer Research Exchange program with TAMU, in conjunction with the Qatar Student Experience Office (QSEO).

  • Coordinates all travel and logistics related to the Engineering Academies program, a main campus group, during their annual visit to Qatar.

  • Establish and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful programs.

  • Create, recruit, match, and select students and faculty for various programs responsible for.

  • Conduct cultural orientations for students, including pre-departure and arrival cultural orientation workshops.

Coordinate Athletic/Recreational Programming

  • Serves as point of contact for all TAMUQ athletics and recreational activities.

  • Serves on Education City sports committee and liaises with TAMUQ hired coaches.

  • Coordinates the attendance of DSA staff members at TAMUQ athletics events while creating mechanisms to increase student attendance at matches. 

  • Coordinates with Qatar Foundation for field reservations, practice times, league/game scheduling, tryouts, etc. 

  • Assesses student participation and experiences in Qatar Foundation housing and residence life and athletic/recreational activities.

Coordinator for Student Housing

  • Process QF Student Housing Requests for new students and/or returning students.

  • Serves as TAMUQ liaison to Qatar Foundation housing and residence Life and a member of the Education City Housing Liaisons Committee.

  • Assists students with the application process for living in QF Student Housing.

  • Serves as primary support for TAMUQ students residing in QF Student Housing. 

  • Triages student conduct cases reported in student housing.

  • Prepares housing reports for TAMUQ and Qatar Foundation as needed.

  • Maintain list of students living in QF Student Housing.

Approve, Track and Coordinate Student Travel

  • Serves as liaison to TAMUQ academic programs, the College of Engineering at TAMU, and Student Affairs for all student travel opportunities.

  • Works with Department staff to assist students in the visa and permit processes for students traveling to or coming to Doha.

  • Authorizes and approves all TAMUQ student travel using Concur and/or other software programs as needed.

  • Provides training to students, faculty and staff to understand the student travel process and requirements.

Support Student Affairs Goals

  • Recommend changes to Department rules or processes.

  • Assists in establishing short and long-term goals and strategic planning for department wide programs (i.e. Aggie Life 101: New Student Orientation, Ring Day, Aggie Marketplace Days, etc.).

  • Develop ways to increase and promote the Aggie spirit amongst new and current students (i.e. Spirit Thursdays).

  • Develop and/or maintain written processes for existing functions in the department.

  • Assist students, faculty, staff, parents or guests by responding to inquiries.

  • Serve on various University and Education City wide committees.

  • Prepares reports on program activities.

Student Support and Advocacy

  • Support students in a variety of ways, including one-on-one meetings.

  • Guide students to available services available to them at TAMUQ, Education City, etc.

  • Advocate for student concerns with administration

  • Performs other duties as assigned.
